Thoughts on toon/rl gender, what's your oppinion?

    Oh but that's no news. I never assume someone's gender, since I know it can be not what you expected.

    I play veno, and my wife plays barb, even she agree's that its nicer to look at the opposit smex if your gona be online for hrs.
    The bonus is we get to confuse ppl.
    EG: some pwi perv starts to hit on me instead of my wife. (I prefer this lol)

    Well, because my gf uses a barb I've created a female cleric(to do embrace and that things). But the rest of my chars are all male(like me) :P

    Guessing it's a nice place to make a first post XD;.

    Well, I'm female playing male characters.

    Not very common as far as I know, but I don't find females attractive. I love the male body, pixels or not... like those pretty seekers. And guys with long hair. The bishounen type but not too effeminate XD.

    (And the seekers have those vivid eyes I wish other classes had.)

    Other reasons include "I hate being hit on" and "I compare myself to the female model image which I really don't fit in", but guys are just too hot for me to pass out on XD;.

    Also: Until gender is mentionned, everyone = male. Guys play female toons because they find them attractive, they play male toons to fit their gender... As a female gamer, I KNOW there's girls out there, but I'm so used to be surrounded by guys that it's an automatic thought.

    I'm a guy and my old main was my Veno and it could only be female due to Perfect world lore. My new main is a Female wizard, for some reason I can make better looking female characters than male in this game cause they end up looking goofy and stupid looking like my first main Blademaster on Heaven Tear server.


    I don't know why I have that problem but yeah it funny when guy think your female cause your playing a female character. I alway try to tell them but sometime they refuse to believe and it quite funny since there is quite a few guys on Raging Tides that play a female toon.

    Im female and always use female characters, The only time i use male characters is if im playing a console game were i dont have a choice between male/female, otherwise id pick female all the time :3

    I agree! OMG!

    Except I don't play as a female char XD.

    A lot of the times, on other MMOs, guys have this... attitude where they think girls can't play as well as guys, and you end up being taken less seriously.

    Yes, I like playing dress-up with my toons. Yes, I like pretty shiny things.

    Yes, I know what a 5APS sin or BM is, I know about things like aggro/crowd control, droprates, in-game economics, powertrading, and so on. I'm not there to ONLY look pretty and shiny. I get fun from actively learning about game mechanics, whether I apply them or not.

    And I still get surprised looks when I show them I know what I'm doing on a game. Less IRL because I'm surrounded by gamers, but online I still get this odd feelings that "girls are just here to look pretty" when I talk to some guys...

    That whole, "I don't wanna stare at a guy" argument is so lame. How many people actually stare at their own character while they play?

    I'm a dude, and all my characters are dudes. If you wanna look at a sexy female cleric, go find a sexy female cleric. I don't have anything against people who play different genders, just stop with the lame excuses XD. We won't mind if you like to pretend you're a girl every once in a while ;)

    I don't make any judgements about which gender so-and-so's character is compared to real life gender. At the end of the day, my opinion of their in-game capabilities will not change simply because ZOMG YOU'RE A GUY PLAYING A GIRL. As long as you are enjoying your gaming experience rationalize it however you want.

    If you don't bother to look at your character then it shouldn't matter if it is male or female.
