Remember how it was 5k to decompose just about any TT gear? Well not anymore.

Cost me 40k to decompose TT60 daggers, then 60K to decompose the 70 daggers. I just can't wait to see what 80 and 90 is.

No more free decomps guys, yall have to pay me now.
Take the time to look for your answer before you post like an idiot.

There are those who panic,
And then there is us.

That's only for Tideborn weapons, and it's been like that since the Raging Tides expansion.

Tideborn weapons have always had this higher decomp cost.

The older weapons, on the other hand, still decomp for the older price.

I think it'd be great to extend that price change to all TT gear, personally. It's a very minor coinsink, but it's the kind PWI actually needs. Something relatively necessary that almost all players would use, rather than "Jolly Old Jones" they can all ignore and be no worse for. Too many of PW's coin-sink ideas fail miserably because people can simply choose to ignore that aspect.

Coin sinks are stupid and useless, it only hurts the non-cash shoppers! The others will just buy another pack, get another token of whatever (or the newest trendy item), turn it in for millions and be giddy. They wouldn't even encounter this 'coin sink' because they'll just buy a weapon in AH and sell their old one.

I was surprised too when I first got my psychic's hh60 weapon decomped..thought it would be a normal 5k or so like other hh weapons.
this was back when 40k and 50k to me were a slightly larger amount of money...
luckily after that I got most of the weapon molds and didn't have to use any more hh weapons b:chuckle

Just as long as a Golden Horse doesn't pop out of it, I might actually try it. b:avoid

    And... I loled

I really don't mind the Decomposing fee. It's raindrops on the ocean compared to the mats, sharding, refining. If it was 4 mil to decompose, then... I'd just NPC my TT gear and probably go back to paying $15 a month to play a P2P MMO lol

PWI is more fun, at this point, than a P2P MMO though.

50k? Damn you must be broke.

40k was... a bump in the road (rather, a pretty serious hurdle) when I was level 70, and trying to make a level 60 weapon to decompose for a level 70 TT weapon.

I think I ended up buying a souledge...

And now, I've got too many TT weapons. >_> I have an Ashura's Sign that's two sockets, and I'd rather sell it for profit than decompose it, but nobody wants to buy it.

And speaking of this. I had TT60 daggers for my sin. When my Sin hit 70, I decided to sell them and get an unsharded, 1 socket, unrefined set for a souledge. The TT60 daggers I made were 2 socket, and I refined them to +4 or so, and put some nice garnet shards in.

I figured I could get 1.5-2 mil out of them, and make a nub Sin happy. I put them in AH, 1.5 mil opening bid, 2 mil buyout. Nobody touched them.

I put them up on WC, 'make a reasonable offer'. Some jerkwad offered me 600k for them. >_> The immac shards were 600k a pop! Give me a break >_> I ended up just decomposing them and making a second TT70 dagger (which, to my delight, is 2 sockets).

    You want a 600k set of TT60 daggers, don't offer on a 2 socket, 2 immac, +4 set. Idiot.

    Why would you +4 a TT60 weapon? o.o

Also all of my BMs **** weapons are two socket... but the ones I mainly used turned out with one socket... I think PWI was just being mean >.>

If 600k is all you were offered, then 600k is all they are worth. Try taking a $60,000 automobile back to the dealer 10 days after you bought it and see what you get for it. [Hint: you will be lucky if the first digit is a 4.]

Unless the price of the TT 60 souledge you got out of the deal was worth more than 600k to you, you destroyed a nice item for nothing. As it is on Sanctuary today, I can get a TT 60 Daggers souledge for 500-600k, so it seems to me that unless the prices were a lot different when this happened, you could have made at least a small profit by selling them (50-100k).

Who did you think was the idiot again? Just sayin'. Unless of course you just did it for spite ... but there is rarely any profit in that.

    Good Luck!

You GET something from the Packs, though.

Or... Does that tidbit not matter to anyone?

The issue is that certain items are becoming devalued. I'm occasionally finding Flawless Garnets for 100k on AH, because there's so many, nobody's buying them. If I want a Flawless Garnet, I check AH first. 140k or less, and it's 'instabuy'. 145k, most likely I'll buy it.

If I needed to make Immac Garnets, I'd wait until I accumulated a bunch of Flawless Garnets, and only purchased them for 100k. Right there, 500k Immac. And why did this monstrosity come about? Because tokens are devaluing Shards, because people can buy them cheaper using tokens. Tokens at 10k = a Flawless shard for 140k.

Basically, when people stick their cash into a prepaid card, or their CC number in, and buy packs, they are getting tokens. They're getting 15 tokens per pack, and each token's base value is around 10k. You can easily make way more off each token: Make flawless shards and sell them in a catshop for 165k. But, this is acting as the opposite as a coinsink, which is causing the economy to go catywompus.

The problem gets worse when you consider that there are certain items that the vast majority of current players are violently addicted to, that can ONLY be obtained by exchanging tokens. Craps and MP food, for one. A new Supply Stash if you vendored yours. So, packs can't be just removed, because it would upset people, and that just can't happen.

So, I think pack prices should get increased. It may inflate token prices, but... That's a tough price to pay for pushing gold prices down.
