It really doesn't matter what u buy. PWI does NOT take advantage of modern CPUs and GPUs. Whatever u buy it will use only one CPU core and 1-2% of your GPU.

So don't bother buying specific CPU or GPU just for PWI, whatever you buy it will be ok.

You'll want a minimum of 512MB on the video card. And at least a GTX460. Although personally, since the client isn't even truly designed for widescreen, much less a higher resolution than 1280x1024, It ends up looking poorly on 1080p. Mostly it's the text. But then maybe that's just my 42" TV.

If u disable VSync, there is no fps cap. I have similar GPU as you, ATI Radeon Mobility 5650 with 1GB of VRAM. Mobility 5650 is similar to desktop 5570, but mobility 5650 have lower clock speeds for core and for memory. So i have slower GPU and still have same 25fps as you have.
Game only uses 1-2% of my GPU, and only one CPU core, and I have dual core CPU.

Game engine is 6 years old, that's the problem.

there is a lot of people with really high-end PC, and they still have really low fps.

Also, there's a pseudo effect going on. The game always runs at 30 FPS. However, despite anything between 30 and 60 being smoother, it's something the average person doesn't notice. It takes a bit of OCD to distinguish. Below 30 fps, instead of slowing down it just uses severe frameskip.
You'll want a minimum of 1 GB on the video card.

    Fixed, for that resolution.

so what your all saying, is that i dont need to upgrade my pc?
If you wanted to buy a new computer just for this game then don't do it. As you can read here you won't see any improvement.

    Fixed, for that resolution.

Actually, I run a Core 2 Quad 6600 with a 768MB GTX460 and get around 40FPS with the settings cranked up at 1080p. (except Shadows)

With 512MB you could get into the 20's or 30's pretty easily and it's a liveable framerate.

I play on 1366x768 resolutio. But bust quality u can get is by playing on max resolution your monitor supports.

I've tried several resolutions, and my fav is the default of my standard monitor 1680x1050. Text displays correctly and it's got a nice field of view. It's also the default for most standard widescreen monitors. (not counting laptops, we're talking desktops here.)

My 8800GT 512M gets 25-40 with medium settings and terrain turned down. Max settings it gets 12-25. Either way is playable. (at 1680x1050 res.)

Game is made with widescreen in mind, so it looks good at any resolution. But you will get the best results if u play on native (maximum) resolution of your monitor.

    @CroPsy

It actually isn't yet. The teleport and world maps will get cutoff in 16:9 resolutions, and the fonts in-games and the UI do not scale.

You can play in widescreen resolutions, but the widescreen option doesn't take advantage of your display correctly.

It is best to play it in windowed mode, and then click and drag the game window to the size that you want if you have any display problems in full screen mode.

If you have a new beefy system, the terrain and water settings may still have to be turned down if you get terrible frame rates. b:surrender

He was talking about that the world map and certain menus don't show up right on the widescreen option, so mostly everyone leaves the widescreen (16:9) option off in the option settings.

Yes, I never did understand why this was an option. I mean, what's the point of 'faking' widescreen by cutting off 20% of your field of view?. It should only be an option if it actually makes changes in the UI that will benefit the widescreen resolution. As it sits, the "Widescreen (16:9)" option should be removed from the settings.
