Sage vs Demon

Intro
The Psychic is essentially another version of the wizard, in that, they do around the sam damage until level 89+ when the wizard outdamages psychic with ease. However the psychic is limited to only 2 elements, but is much faster than a wizard.

Pros n Cons
Pros: Nice damage, fast cast speed, nice all around skills.
Cons: Rather squishy, can't take many hits below level 70 (especially in bhs).

Builds
Pure Magic: 1 str, 4 mag until 54 str, then 5 mag per lvl
Vit: 1 str, 1 vit, 3 mag till 54 str, then either 2 vit n 3 mag or 1 vit n 4 mag per lvl
Cleric Build: 7 mag, 2 vit, 1 str per 2 lvls.

Gear
1-30:Use the quest reward gear because with the adds on it, it's better than anything else from 1-30
30-40:Rank 1 gear and whatever else you can find
40-70:2-3 star robes sharded with hp and pdef if you can
70+:TT robes sharded with pdef and hp.

Skills

Water Side of the Tree:
1)Aqua Impact (max)
2)Black Voodoo (max)
3)Torrent (lvl 1)
4)Bubble of Life (max)
5)Aqua Cannon (only lvl it when you start fcing)
6)Glacial Shard (max)
7)Empowered Vigor (lvl slowly as it's only useful in BHs)
8)Disturb Soul (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking)
9)Tide Spirit (lvl 1)
10)Red Tide (max slowly, as you'll be using the sparks to spark or vector most of the time)

Earth side of the Tree:
1)Spirit Blast (max)
2)White Voodoo (lvl 3)
3)Landslide (max if you wish as it gets replaced at 79(for me anyway))
4)Sand Trap (lvl 1)
5)Diminished Vigor (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking)
6)Sandburst Blast (max)
7)Soulburn (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking)
8)Earth Vector (max)
9)Psychic Will (lvl 1 since most squads have cleric which = free purify)

Rest of the skill tree:
1)Soul of Vengeance (max it, but pace it)
2)Soul of Stunning (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking)
3)Soul of Silence (Max it, but pace it)
4)Soul of Retaliation (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking)
5)Aqua Spirit (max slowly)
6)Earthen Spirit (max slowly)
7)Tide Form (don't even bother getting lvl 1 unless you like swimming)
8)Crystal Light (get it)
9)Sandball Clash (get it)
10)Stone Smasher (get it)

Sage vs Demon

Sage: Best if you do intend to be mainly PvE
Demon: Best if you intend to be mainly PvP

There're so many misconceptions that it's almost as if someone is just using info from ecatomb to write a guide. If a mod stickies this, then they'll be following the precedent of mods having no clue wtf they're doing.

    this is either:
    A. a player utterly ignorant of psychics

    or

    B. a troll that is going supper deep into character

Keep in mind that his so-called guide totally exclude PvP. He's only talking about pure PvE. Which is dumb. What he said works for low-mid lvl pure PvE, but neither for PvP nor for higher lvl PvE...
Thus, you can't call it a guide, when you totally take no account of the biggest part of the game.

Btw, OP, Psychic Will and Empowered Vigor are totally key skills later in the game, ijs.

"The Psychic is essentially another version of the wizard..."

I stopped reading there and started to laugh...well more or less, this "guide" is so basic, it's pretty much useless. There are 2 other guides in here which explains in a detailed manner the Psychics and all you wanna know about them. Yes, way way way better than this.

This post has so many mistakes it's obvious the player is a n00b Psychic or a Troll; in any case, this was good for the lulz.

There is more to the differences between wizards and psychics than just the damage difference and number of elements. Also with Black Voodoo, in some cases, psychics actually have a little lead on wizards. For example: the type of survival skills available. Wizards get kiting skills and a pdef barrier. We get soulforce, a variety of barriers and ailments, and White Voodoo.

    Pros n Cons
Pros: Nice damage, fast cast speed, nice all around skills.
Cons: Rather squishy, can't take many hits below level 70 (especially in bhs).
I beg to differ. Psychic Will (learned at 59) is very helpful! And for that matter, very little should even hit you apart from AoE's from bosses.

    Builds
Pure Magic: 1 str, 4 mag until 54 str, then 5 mag per lvl
Vit: 1 str, 1 vit, 3 mag till 54 str, then either 2 vit n 3 mag or 1 vit n 4 mag per lvl
Cleric Build: 7 mag, 2 vit, 1 str per 2 lvls.
    Much simpler:
Pure: 1 str, 9 mag every two levels
Hybrid: 1 str, 1/2 vit, 8/7 mag every two levels

    Gear
1-30:Use the quest reward gear because with the adds on it, it's better than anything else from 1-30
30-40:Rank 1 gear and whatever else you can find
40-70:2-3 star robes sharded with hp and pdef if you can
70+:TT robes sharded with pdef and hp.
For the 70+ section, you may want to consider that by now you should be planning on your endgame gear or have some clue as to your direction. Given that, you may choose different gear options based on cost, prerequisite gear, etc. As an example gearing up with 70's ☆☆☆ gear and legendary gear is often sufficient for FF until endgame and is far far cheaper. And that by now you should have some idea of your play style and goals and given that you should be able figure it out. Yes, it can take time but it is well worth it.

    Skills

    Water Side of the Tree:
    1)Aqua Impact (max)
    2)Black Voodoo (max)
3)Torrent (lvl 1) I would suggest leveling this if you can. Its strength is not dimished by White Voodo and also it helps do more damage while you use your DoTs to deal damage while still letting the tank build aggro at the beginning of a fight.
4)Bubble of Life (max) Or pacing works too.
5)Aqua Cannon (only lvl it when you start fcing) This is useful anytime you are rounding up many mobs. PV, RB, grinding are more examples that come to mind.
    6)Glacial Shard (max)
7)Empowered Vigor (lvl slowly as it's only useful in BHs) This helps in any instance! FF too! TW too! It is a great buff for tanks and catapult pullers as well as yourself or anyone who needs extra umph to the available healing options.

2)White Voodoo (lvl 3) I would suggest maxing this too. Sure it gimps yourself more but the point of the skill leans towards survival.
3)Landslide (max if you wish as it gets replaced at 79(for me anyway)) Maxing anyway is a good idea still. It is still strong and also you may prefer the interrupting ability or that it is an earth attack whereas the level 79 skill is a water attack. Plus I find that the push skill can come in handy now and then too.
4)Sand Trap (lvl 1) See Torrent.
5)Diminished Vigor (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking)
    6)Sandburst Blast (max)
7)Soulburn (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking) The extra range can be handy in PvE too such as Soulburning the slasher boss from outside its AoE range, but not a priority..
    8)Earth Vector (max)
9)Psychic Will (lvl 1 since most squads have cleric which = free purify) The purify is only part of the skill's effects! The physical attack immunity can easily be critical! Leveling increases the duration! This is perhaps a psychic's most epic survival skill!

    Rest of the skill tree:
1)Soul of Vengeance (max it, but pace it) Leave it at 1 until you get the demon/sage version.
2)Soul of Stunning (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking) Leave it at 1 until you get the demon/sage version.
3)Soul of Silence (Max it, but pace it) Leave it at 1 until you get the demon/sage version.
4)Soul of Retaliation (lvl 1 unless you plan on pking) Leave it at 1 until you get the demon/sage version though it can be nice to level this up if you can spare the spirit/coin.
    5)Aqua Spirit (max slowly) Max
    6)Earthen Spirit (max slowly) Max
7)Tide Form (don't even bother getting lvl 1 unless you like swimming)
    8)Crystal Light (get it)
    9)Sandball Clash (get it)
    10)Stone Smasher (get it)

Sage: Best if you do intend to be mainly PvE
Demon: Best if you intend to be mainly PvP
For this, you really ought to check out the many threads that discuss this. There is much more to it.

I made some comments in purple. I assume the guide is not finished. Writing a guide can be a huge undertaking (and a great learning opportunity!) even if mostly for one's own benefit. Hopefully these comments help you learn. Psychics are an awesome class so I hope you enjoy playing yours! =)

You should consider learning more about your toon before you write a guide.
