Binding charms

Some armour/weapons that you craft will auto-bind upon equipping. Such things as the TT99 armour or the TT90 gold weapon etc. For these there is no need to worry. Simply throw it on and you can't drop it.

For everything else you can buy the binding charm from the boutique. (See Lurani's post for the location) Once you have bought the binding charm, go and talk to any PW Promotions Agent. They have the option to bind gear. Just as when you imbue a soulgem etc, simply select the piece of gear you want to bind, attach the charm and away you go.

If you have bound gear you then can indeed pk without safety lock or the use of Guardian Scrolls. Fuzzy can't stand using safety lock and has bound 100% of his gear. However, be aware that once you do so you are now "stuck" with the gear. You can still equip/unequip, imbue gems/purify, refine etc just as normal but there is no way to re-sell the gear when you are done with it. The panda would suggest choosing which armour set/weapon to bind carefully. If for example you want to make TT99, don't bind your TT90 green as you will need to decompose it for the souledge when ready to make the upgrade.

Also beware for as Lurani also mentioned, just because your gear is bound doesn't mean you wont drop anything in pk. While you won't drop your armour or weapon you will still loose things out of your inventory. Since this is the case, just make sure that you put everything of value in the bank before you go to pk and carry around a stack or two of useless herbs or sadness cards or something.

Fashion, coin, or anything else that may be in your inventory that isn't bound to your character still has it's usual % of drop.

But, it's useful to bound all your end game gear. (The gear you know you won't be replacing.)


On a side note, wasn't there once a item to unbound your gear. o-o' If not i must be thinking of another game.

You can bind fashion if you want. Same with aerogear if I recall right.

Just once you do, you can't sell it and if you get rid of it, it's just money lost. No refund or whatnot. Only thing you could hope to do is getting an account stash stone and share it with another (like a barb and a bm sharing bound HA / axes)

There is no unbinding. However, it would be nice (but PWI would lose money on this so they won't do it) I can't say as for in the past if there were unbinding items, I want to say no, But I know currently there aren't any, and I wouldn't plan on seeing any either really.
