How good (if at all) is the LA build?

Was working on my mystic and just wanted to bounce this idea off of everyone. I notice that the pet stats are in relation to your def att etc... so would going LA benefit the stats of the sumons more? is the loss of mag pts that damaging to the build, as opposed to an LA psy or wizzy? Just wanteda lil bit of input.

Please...Just go Full Mag, you will not regret it if you know what you are doing. Otherwise...If you wanna be different, have a bit less Magic Attack, and less HP compared to a VIT or Pure build, AND you want to be different, go LA then...I see no point in it, imo though.

i have 3 other AA builds, i know what im doing. my intent was not to be different but to see if the LA build was more workable. To my knowledge venos are the only other AA class that can really work the LA route well without losing much in the way of power or survivability. I just wanted to know if any others had any experience of technical details to contribute to my working experience with the class.

Cleric's (I have only known of 2 people that have amazingly pulled it off, they later re-rolled to AA @ 100) can roll LA and Mystics...However, AA is just really the best option for this class.

Everything about a Mystic is Magic Attack based...You would be gimped with an LA build in my opinion.

Everyone is telling you to go full mag because that is what they went. If you want to try LA go ahead, especially if you think it will be fun.

As for answers to your questions, the loss of mag points will hurt. But that's just opportunity costs, and the LA might make up for it. Your pets will probably benefit more from LA, but I can't tell if it will really be worth it as I've never tried it.

    Good luck.

TY rose and rubble. i guess another question would be, at higher levels, do you rely on the summon or skills....

i know already that the real answer is both, but an LA build still deals good damage thru crits; it takes hits better ( like AOES ) than AA though, and my main concern is whether at higher levels making sure the summon can tank is a more important task.

for now, i have been doing AA for the past 20 lvls as i have all the gear and more for that build. I have met a few LA venos that can hold their own but having a herc kinda eliminates the need to bolster pet defenses(if pets share defenses with veno that is.....i personally do not remember)

Higher crit would be a good benefit to the Mystic, but you can energy leech the devil chihyu and get 20% crit already, so it's up to you if you get more damage or even more crit rate.

Theoretically, LA would give your summon more pDef and more HP from refines, but I can't tell you if it can compare to a Glacial Walker in terms of tanking, also you have to know that the summons don't have any skill to pull aggro, they only get it by their own damage.

Veno's Pets don't share defenses in the same way as Mystic's summons does, if that's what you asked...

As for survivability, the Mystic can survive a lot better than a veno, so LA and AA wouldn't matter, your damage will be lower, but since you already know how to play a LA char, I think you'll be just fine.
My advice is go for it, you know how to play, so you just have to get used to the class, and to tell the truth, you won't need the summons for normal gameplay, since the mystic is a lot stronger than it seems.
    Good luck to you b:victory

I will think about La if summons, plants, AS, Thicket could crit too (maybe their's crit rate as character could be)
