Any fun left to be had for the casual player?

Redownloading it now, mainly because I don't care much about the game anymore, and figured it would be fun to kill time when I don't feel like playing something with challenge involved. So, after browsing the forums (and getting scared by the amount of horrific typing errors), I was wondering if the game is, at the very least, playable for someone who won't chuck money at the game? Thanks in advance.

    Is for me. <3

Just was in a BH squad with my Faction, for an hour. Loved it :3

You don't HAVE TO pay to have "fun" at this game. But you do if you want to have a chance in PK ^^

Since you are in the same sever as me, (Dreamweaver). It's very populated, and I'm sure you'll have fun..Not every thing needs money to be fun, imo.

Because I'm not posting from my character, since it's on a different account. No this isn't me trying to troll, I just have like three accounts, and this is the only one I talk on forums with, hence my Siggy is my main char's name, so people know who I am.

Anyone not posting from a character is a tiki...Which btw is a Chimei, (New mob from EG Expansion).

I wouldn't recommend coming back if you've left. Nothing has really improved so if you quit for a reason then most likely that reason is still here.

Don't come back. Play another game that's not PWE -.-

I have seen many people stressing about their own gear for not being good enough, leading to people leaving them out coz there's a lot more better players to choose; as well as seeing players wanting to be something but can't coz CS > all and that's how it kinda goes.. -_-

If you don't want to chuck real life money in here and play, prepare for epic discrimination wif squads, and a very slow speed of obtaining what you want and even just to have fun. You can still play, but just stressful. And games aren't meant to be stressful..

I've given this game up a few times, but only here coz I'm far too attached to my character's sexiness and my friends and past here. Not coz of the present. So....please take my advance and the barb abv, DO NOT COME BACK. I wish I could leave, and I'm already slowly pulling back. Too bad PWI was a drug to begin wif.

It doesn't have to be stressful if you are patient. A game is suppose to be fun, not something you throw money every time you fail at something, or want to get ahead. Think about real life, if every time you got stressed or something bad happened, if you could just pay your way through life, you'd learn nothing, and have no fun with the daily basis of life. This game is still fun for the few that know what their doing, and ignore CSers, especially on a PvE sever.

I didn't really quit for a reason, I quit because I was freaking bored. This game used to be addictive to me, where as now I'm really not, mainly as I've hit the point where leveling is a wee bit ridiculous. I'm not mad at anything in particular, I just think it's a mediocre game, and I felt like playing an MMO recently, but couldn't affordgetting addicted or pulled in, so I thought of this game ^^

I pretty much never spend money on the game. Unfortunately, if you don't spend money on the game in order to get anywhere in it you either need rich and giving friends, to spend all of your time on the game or be very serious about it when you are on and ignore the social aspect which in turn can harm your income if you don't have people to squad with. Truly, I wish that the game weren't so cash shop oriented but in the end it is Free To Play and the money to run the game has to come from somewhere.

Thanks, I thought of it myself. Does this mean I'm required to add you when I log in now? >->

On a relavant note, the main reason I (also) refuse to spend money on this game is because there is no value. Have I payed for option content in other games? Sure. Will I do it in a game where 50 bucks buys me a negligable increase in speed or a couple dozen lottery tickets? Of course not.

I'm also a pretty casual player... few people believe that I've been playing for over two years, since my character is under 100. In that, casual players may feel a bit of the ever-present pressure to LEVELLEVELLEVEL... but if you're aware of it, and simply decide to ignore it, it does wonders.

Take your time. Explore. Dote love and attention to all your gear and quests with every tick of that level indicator. Just do what you want to do. If you find an awesome faction, or fun friends, or simply an instance you like to do, then do it, and play how you want.

This game is supposedly 'free to play, pay to win'... I find, for pve anyway, that it is a lot of fun as long as 'winning' the game isn't even on the table. I'm just here to play the game. Find other people who agree, and you'll always have fun.

I just came back too from a very long break off the game, I left on december, so thats 5 months the reason was the rank sales and the point of looking at how much money I've spent and what the progress has been (reached my goal of leveling my main character to 100, so that's a goal I wanted to reach before doing anything else)

Right now, I have downloaded all the updates since then, and loged in, did find the new classes kind of interesting, but the magic one seems pretty much like a veno copy, earthguard as far as I saw is a BM (in sword mode).

Friends were offline, packs are still around, more useless fashion, prices went up, gold went up, everything is messed up, I never ever saw so many people running around with rank gear... and that's a lot to say, that sale was the worse thing PWI could have done ever, but ah well, what is done is done.

I loged in for about 2 hours, found few people I knew, but pretty much, everything is exactly the same as months ago... but with 2 more classes, quests related to them and a new instance & city.

From that, I still see some bugs that have been ignored since 2 years ago, so that's it for me for now, won't log in again in some time, I want to keep this game as far away from me as possible but wanted to say hi to my old friends, though most of them werent online, sadly.

Anyway, like it has been said over and over, this game is free to play, but to get somewhere you need to pay or have a lot of spare time... (and I mean... a lot....)

    Good luck :)

As long as you don't hyper-level, or care about much past 95, or care about PvP, or care about TW, or care about having only marginal gear (unless you're good at merchanting).... Sure, there's fun left. I enjoy playing my 3 mains and 4 alts.

You could always come back for friends, and at your level, damn it's so fun with BH and PQ and the other ****. Precisely why I play my x60 veno and Forsaken World, to make up for the fun I used to have in PWI on my cleric :(

It is what you make of it. I am level 80 and just upgraded my level 41 req. hat last night to one that is level 61 req. - I have spent about $40 in the cash shop over 7 months for stuff but you don't have to spend money to enjoy this game. Granted I don't PVP but I think there is enough content to keep a casual player interested. The biggest problem at the higher levels for casual players is that the number of solo quests dwindle down to basically zero. So you do the same dailies and maybe some Justice, other stuff takes a bigger investment of time.

I just came back from Forsaken World (lvl 4x Mage) and have kept coming back from various other mmos after I got bored of them (Ai*n) :P I love and enjoy it very much, I couln't stand the timed event/ timed instance lvling of FW, I like doing things when I want and if I want, not miss an event/timed instance and be left behind in levels lol (to those who have played FW you may understand why)

But anyway I still consider this game very casual, of course you may want to compete and be good, w/e but tbh its all just leisure gaming, so do what you want and be happy :)
Oh and generally people on this game seem more mature and nicer? Compared to FW atm anyway, don't know why, might just be me haha.. :3 I mean if you look that their forums now its just full of rants, on a game thats less than 3 months old.. :( people get so stressed about games, esp if it turns into a job (where you HAVE to log everyday at the same time to keep up *ahem*FW*ahem*) lolz..

Sorry if this kinda turned into a rant towards FW hehe, but yes, I like this game and will stay on it casually until something else interests me, and even after I may keep returning. :D

After having played for a time and gone through all the various stuff i have to where I am now, I would say that if you can get into the feel of the game, play it. There's a certain... story and background, however weak, to the game, and if you like being wrapped up in that, then this is a good game.

If you are looking to become a powerful player, then DON'T come back unless you intend to spend money. This game is supposed to be free, but it's really not. I've spent some money on the game for basic things... flight, bank space, etc... and that's about it so far. After doing the calculations on how much it would cost to buy my way into power, I see it would be insanely difficult and costly.

If you are coming into the game for the randomness, trolling and general "I can come here and vent my anger and frustration" sort of thing, this is the place for you. Almost everyone has no concern or interest in others here, and even within your own faction you can find yourself snubbed and talked about behind your back.

If you are coming back looking for friends to goof around with, you can do that here too... just keep in mind the previous paragraph. People seem to almost enjoy turning on you sometimes, and even when they're not, they seem driven to talk about you behind your back while smiling in your face. It'll help a lot if you have friends in the game you remember from our last time playing.

Overall, I'd say if you don't have any seriously gigh aspirations, and are just looking for something to do to pass the time, hang with people, troll and goof around a bit, and play a game, this game is worth it. If you're looking for a really well made game, or a game where you can reach the top of the rankings without spending money, I'd search elsewhere.

i'm a causal player (note my level despite the fact that i been around before 2009) i find the game enjoyable, if only to chat with my crazyass guildmates lol. even if i log in and not do any actually playing chatting with gildmates and friends makes the time zip byxD just don't get jealous of the people who dump hundreds of dollers in the game, after all, your only playing casually.

note iyou'll have to accept the unbalanced factors in the game as well as bugs
