Dropping items rate increased? (death by mobs)

Sorry if this has already been asked but....
has the rate for dropping items when killed by mobs increased?
JUST TODAY while doing frostcovered city runs, one person dropped 20 pure waters, another person dropped their bracers, and i dropped a stack of hyper exp stones.
This all happened dying from mobs not players, and all within 1-2 hours of eachother.
Any word on this? b:bye

I mean, I only recall dropping an item by actually dying from a mob maybe one time after playing for 2 years, but now it happened three times at once?
Might just be extremely rare, but even people in my squad said they have been dropping multiple times today. b:sad
I thought the chance was somewhere near 1%? even if you double the chance...the odds in it happening three times in a row... lol0 -
Also depends on how red they were.
But white name drops aren't actually all that rare. It's just that when you don't die too often, have safety lock/GAs, or die in areas where things can't drop it starts to feel more and more like an incredibly rare occurrence.
I do like the idea of 2x drop rates on players though since it's only fair for the squads of mobs that when they go Player Boss hunting they should get 2x EXP/drops for killing us too. b:laugh0 -

Isn't default drop rate for white names, 1%? so even if double drops also worked on mobs killing players, or players killing players, that would make it 2% by that theory, which of course woulden't make sense if the 2 people here just said about all that **** dropping.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

2x event doesn't increase your chances of dropping. If it did affect players, you would have dropped two stacks of hypers instead of just dropping any at all./quit.

You see why I am so confused, then. It shouldn't even be possible. Besides which, I didn't die to the mob, I killed it. Unless it somehow managed to swipe my swimtrunks in the split-second before its demise? . . . I have no idea. This game just gets more bizarre with every patch.

Blue named friends were reporting having their items randomnly unequipped during the arch invasion event, and they say they didn't even have their inventory open to do it by accident.
Haven't had it happen to me personally, but perhaps something is a bit bugged?b:sadfrankieraye

The 2x event doesn't actually mean twice the amount of items drop from mobs. It means double the drop rate.

i can relate-i had my little Mystic at the TB beach where you have to dig underwater for treasure chests, while trying to avoid those phrahna like fish mobs. so i had my fugly pet eating them while i was digging, and when she straightened up, no dress! nothing but a weird bikini undies that let you see what was on the other side of me! talk about seethrough clothes, yikes. but when i went to the next spot, where there were treasure chests with turtles around, no problems with 'clothing malfunctions'.
it always happens with the pearlblossom dresses, but not in any predictable way. first time was on my veno, when i was on my tiger mount, and the dress would disappear/reappear depending on camera angle.
whatever the reason, im paranoid now about wearing that style. its back to the old ballroom dress and fairy dresses for me now.

you get double the droprate, every mob you kill, the server just counts droprate like you killed it twice
nirvana bosses: 100% chance to drop 1, server counts it twice, so 2 times 100% chance to drop 1
other mobs, for example 40% drop 1, 20% drop 2 and 10% drop 3, you can have 1 item and 3 items, so total of 4 drops from one mobs, you can also have 2 times 3 drops, giving a total of 60 -

ballroom and fairy dresses were ingame when it started, so i think im safe against losing them...going visually AWOL is another.

Still 2x drop rate wouldnt make sense for the last boss in nirvana because uncannies/raptures/mirages arnt all 100% chance, they are divided up and when it's on 2x you get 4 items instead of 2. If it was 2x drop rates then you would still only get 2 but if one item (such as uncanny) was 50% you would then get it 100% of the time ruling out the chances of getting a rapture or mirage correct? So, that's why it seems like it is 2x drops not drop rate.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm pretty sure that most people in this thread in regards to how 2x works are all partially correct. I am reminded of an old thread that equated 2x drops to rolling dice. If I recall, the way it was described was there were 2 sets of dice.
Die 1: drop count
Die set 2 (can be more than one, depending on mob/boss): drop item
In the case of non bonus nirvana bosses, die 1 has "1" on all sides - and die 2 has the chest type on all sides, so you always get 1 chest on normal drops. For bonus bosses, die 1 has "2" on all sides - so you always get 2 chests. For 2x drops the dice are rolled a second time and you get 2 chests on normal bosses and 4 chests on bonus bosses.
For EG the last boss in nirvana, die one has "2" on all sides and there are TWO dice for set 2. Each die in set 2 has "mirage" "uncanny" "rapture" as possible outcomes. Die 1 gets rolled first - always lands on "2", then die set 2 gets rolled and you end up with eg: "uncanny & rapture". THEN, die 1 gets rolled again - lands on 2 again as always, followed by a second roll of die set 2 where you might end up with eg: "mirage and rapture"
thus your actual drops received are "mirage, rapture, rapture, uncanny".[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Its as Shilizious explained. Default drop rate in PW-CN at the time of this screenshot is 3x or 4x. Server just dice-rolls multiple times.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
