bows ?

i bring a bow with me when i do bh51 so i can avoid the aoe of rankar, as i was told this should be effective

yet with a range of only 20. the bow does not seem to get me out of aoe range

is their any way to stay out of his aoe, or should i just put my daggers back on and get back into melee ?

( char is a level 63 sin )

    i would be pretty sure his AoE is 22m , but im not sure.

    If u want to stay in range , go near ur cleric , if he/she is a good one , chromatic lealing beam will kick in every AoE hit so ull get healed ( dont stand really next to cleric , if u somehow steal aggro -tank dies etc- u dont want rankar to come near cleric.

    other way is bloodpaint & some potions + daggers. the cleric , if is a decent one could find the time to drop a wellspring on you ( well i do xD). if aggro stealing is a prob , use chill of the Deep.

    cant think anything else , my sin isnt high enough for bh 51.

    Rank has 2 AoEs: Close-Range Physical, and Long-Range Magic. So even with a bow, you're still gonna eat hits. Still...the Physical tends to hit significantly harder than the Magic, so at least you're avoiding being 1-shot.

    Personally, if you can survive and pot/ToP/Second Wind/BP + Dagger Proc through it, I'd just slash the hell out of his face for a faster kill tho'. Or just learn the timings and Spark Resist the hit altogether. He's pretty fast on the draw, but it's more than doable.

    Yeah, you're better off either using your daggers to get BP's heal, or just staying away. You can also just run up to Ribstrike, then run back out of his AoE range. Early on, you'd do best to just stay away from him, my sin was a vit build then and still got floored a few times by Rank in his early 60s. But after, oh maybe 65 or 66 you should be able to handle his AoE. Also, clerics should have BB by now and should be using it for AoEing bosses..

    I never had a bow untill I got to 70+. If you have a close to decent cleric, you will not have problems in BH51. Got bow at 70+, because the TT70 was dirt cheap. I would use it in BH69 for Dd on Pole and Nob, when I see the cleric is only IH spaming the tank. Though even with bow, I ever would be carefull not to still aggro. Yould like to ahve abow in Fc for harpys (if you are lazy, and dont want to pull them to the ground) and heads. Finaly I found the bow being a surprize in PvP, especialy in long fights with barbs, when finaly they see me spark and begin to kite, I just bow them down :)
    To have or not? - yes get a good one TT70 Unicorn, and later at lvl80 the mold one
    How to use it? - That depends on you and your play-style
