Im curious to know if people have noticed a certain image floating about the internet. It looks like they took the PW concept art for EG...

    ....Really PWE? You're lucky SquareEnix doesn't know about this. Pretty sure Yoichi Wada doesn't appreciate it. But then again...unlike your customer service, when I call them about a problem? They answer...almost immediately.

    Petal, square enix couldn't do anything, I've no idea why you would think they can, reason being that the chocobo and the PWI mount are 2 totally different things, yes they have the same body, but the face is different, the colouring is different, the tail size is totally different, really though, they both look like they designed there own ostrich , so no copyright there, also the tree's on that vid, dunno what to say to that, perhaps I haven't been around the TB area enough but they didn't look to similar, not like it would matter.

    Also to the OP, that world of lordcraft, its been around for a while now, it was a simple rip off of...well take a guess, even its character screen is the exact same, doubt anything will be done about them anytime soon, even though I'm surprised into why not going from how far they have gone into ripping "it" off.

    Trees and birds... I just believe in that issue you mention that it's rather a problem of originality designers have (the 'all good ideas are taken already' or 'how can I draw a totally special character/monster/building/whatever else?'. It's not a rip-off as Renza just stated. If they were exact copies of each other, one would be a thief indeed. Besides, spying is common these days, even taking ideas from other companies and twisting them around. But copyright infringement depends on very precise terms.

    If you want to hear about a true copyright offender, I invite you to google the story of the Bleach manga and the guy named Nick Simmons (I happen to be a casual anime and manga fan but who cares?). He blatantly stole designs and even poses from the manga, made so it was its own style and said after he was threatened by thousands of angry Bleach fans and ending with worldwide, serious accusations of plagiarism that he was paying 'homage' to the original author.

    P.S.: SquareEnix is really meh these days. All about the money. And I used to be a Square fan. Yes indeed.

    idk about the rest of you, but she's right. Background trees do look almost exactly like the crystal tree in da TB land...and Advent Children came out ages before this game. almost three years before i think. i wont even talk about how old Final Fantasy VII itself is: point is, they thought of it first, therefore shiny white crystal tree belongs to their company.

    Pluz the two birds have almost identical body shapes, designs in feet, and poofy tails. All PWE did was make the neck thinner, the eyes bigger, the beak longer, give it colors, and slapped glitter on it.

    And obviously, that chick looks so much like a Mystic, it's not even funny.

    f i knew Square's contact information, i'd tell them about this. PWE needs a good kick in the face from the players anyway. i used to play Final Fantasy 11...at least when you told them about bugs, they fixed it. i wonder how they'd react to this.

    Oh by the way, since you seem to be a fan, SquareEnix are not saints either, given what they did to the Chrono Trigger Resurrection project.

    The woman on the picture isn't an EG. I've seen it alot before, and honestly she reminds me alot of the Goddess of Light from another mmo I played before (begins with an S and ends with an A)

    Funny enough it reminds me of the picture Sony's flagship MMO still uses :P

    As for the trees & birds, not even a remote chance any court would ever uphold a copywright infringement for the simillarities. It would basically have to be an exact copy, as in literally unedited at all.

    Actually that's how humans look like and art&entertainment are using the human body as the very original. Then again the clothes are the only thing that reminds me of PW, but hey go to the beach irl and see the same - bikini.
    Maybe PWI "stole" that image from somebody's deviant art?

    As for the chicken, I laughed because that looks just like my chickens running at the back side of my house.
    It's 2011, nothing new appeared since 2004, What did you expect?
