I think its more so in the case, they let a few in, and now those few are what causes a huge imbalance. By not letting everyone have the easy access, now other people can;t work torwards evening out the playing field.


Its like haveing a football game, with only the winning team having pads. And the loseing team having no way to get those pads... get it?

the original complaint with r9 was that it was op gear that required no farming by anyone. which meant that anyone at lvl 101 could just swipe their card, and buy the gear, with no benefit to the farmers. unlike nirvana where even if people do just sell gold to buy everything right out, there is still a benefit to farmers.

the problem with changing the rank 9 availability is that now the gear is for all intents and purposes unavailable, save for those people that are willing to pay exobitant price to those who abused the glitch. the fix had the opposite effect of its annouced purpose, while stopping further abuse of the glitch, the fix put tons of extra money in the pockets of those who abused. the fix also had the effect of excluding those who where working toward the goal of rank 9 from being able to obtain it.

the fix had the effect of closing the doors of the rank 9 club, those who got it when it was available are now in an exclusive group, and have something that other people cant get even if they put in the same work as those who already have it.

its an annomally becuase MMOs usually release better gear from time to time, the new gear starts out as exclusive, but eventually becomes common. PWIs medal "fix" has made this progression impossible. this will effect them down the road, because they will need to push back the release of the next set of gear, until rank 9 becomes common.
