everyones throwing out diffrent amounts for rank 8/ 9 so i thought id work them out for everyone to see and complain

    Warsoul will still remain difficult to get becouse its majority coin and not chips, but ive added warsoul to the list.

    Based on those figures:

    315300 chips / 375 chips per purchase = 840.8 (841)
    841 * .2 (silver) = 168.2 gold for ALL THE CHIPS TO MAKE WARSOUL WEAPON!

    But thats not all!

    ~6,750,000,000 coin required to craft warsoul.
    Sell gold on the AH for 1.2M each (fairly modest price considering how desireable gold is now)
    5,625$ to buy enough coin needed to craft warsoul
    Round up slightly due to AH fees and to purchase chips, ~6000$ (30 days of charging 200$ a day)

    You can now buy full R9 + warsoul for just under 7500$
    Good Freaking Game.

    Hi, Ok stupid question probably, but I have been reading forums and everything I can find and still can't find the answer (probably not looking in the right place) To get rank 9 stuff you need rep, those medals and chips. But for rank 8 stuff do you just need the rep and correct level? Thanks for your time b:pleased

    yes just rep and the correct level- you should have to pay a 1 mil fee for each piece though i think (i dont have rank 8 but i have some friends that do)

    It's 2m for the weapon (I believe always 2 socket just like TT100), 1m for the chestpiece (randomly 3 or 4 sockets), and I think 1m for anything else -- the latter of which is not worth it. You must be level 100 or above and have the 200k+ rep to get rank 8. Rank 9 requirements of medals 'n **** are something exclusive to that rank.

    Only an idiot would pay 75 gold for 3 Medals, they can be acquired for a fraction of that cost. This is skewing your final price by an additional 20% or more.

    Thank you very much for telling me the prices/total for rank 8 and 9 gear!
    Rank 9 gear in particular was a total mystery for me (never knew how many medals, chips
    and whatnot I'd need for each part).

    This thread should be stickied so that people new to the game don't have to search hard to figure out how to get rank 8/9.

    And, I hope Medals of Glory return to the DQ Rewards page soon b:cry.

    I'd say its better to be prepared than unprepared and standing there like a blubbering baffoon and being unprepared is usually the odd way out.

    The Medals will be in TW, people will still sell them (they might come back in the Boutique, and even if they don't you can be prepared in other ways.)

    The Mysterious Chip packs will make the occasional sale appearance on and off. You can be prepared there as well.

    If you had of used you're head (Back in November & December 2010)
    you might of had a bit more RANK 9. But thats, ok cause you've still got lots of time.

    You could of charged 250 USD for the ring.

    Then you could of charged another 600~800 USD (200 USD every 2 weeks) [up until March when they removed the medals] when they had the pack sale with 15 Mysterious Chips.

    Anyway while you were sleeping, writing in the forum and not planning.

    Here is one I prepared earlier:

    Here is what I ended up with Rank 9 wise, just need two more medals and I've got the full set of armor. Thanks PWI. You're awesome. Belt doesn't matter to me as much but its all cool either way I can go for the long term belt goals (Cube - Pink Necklace / Warsong Belt)

    On the bright hand side, when I do Nirvana and I can focus purely on doing Nirvana for profit for the most part and don't have to worry about getting 700 Uncanny Crystals for my armor, which being 600~700k per crystal at the moment really bites.

    If (as it stands at current on Raging Tides server (DATE: 19th or 20th of April 2010):

    1 Uncanny Crystal = 600k~700k and you need 100 of them to upgrade ONE piece of armour and then another 1 to recast the Nirvana. That is about 60,000,000~70,000,000 coin

    100 * 600,000 = 60,000,000
    100 * 700,000 = 70,000,000

    1 Rapture Crystals = 2,000,000 to 2,100,000 and you need 100 of them to re-make your Nirvana weapon.
    That is

    100 * 2,000,000 = 200,000,000 coin
    100 * 2,100,000 = 210,000,000 coin

    Now on Raging Tides, Medals of Glory cost between 40,000,000 and 60,000,000 and I only need 2 more.

    2 * 40,000,000 = 80,000,000
    2 * 60,000,000 = 120,000,000

    You might also like to factor in that most parties like to SPLIT Nirvana drops for coin. There is another thing to factor in and these parties will also split the coin between the members of the party and usually only take 5 APS (which I can do as a barb -- yes I know it sounds stupid but I planned for that as well)

    I love simple maths and mind you though I am not even counting in-game inflation. This is what happens in a lot of F2P games. Prices of things go up. But it is OK because I don't need to really Nirvana all that much. So while our good friends say. Oh but you spent a lot of cash AH~HA~HA~HA~HA! Uh Oh. Yeah Uh Oh.

    So whether I am an idiot, a moron or I am just plain blind from all my theorizing and planning, I must be doing something right, wrong or otherwise right?

    Why would anyone go R9 and warsoul weap?

    R9 is better than Warsoul.

    People dont usually go for r9 just for the +30 att lvls on weapon.

    Bonus set adds up sooo much more....go read.

    It would be pointless to get r9 gear and choose the warsoul weapon instead of R9 one.

    And Warsoul weaps are not even that good in comparison with R9 weaps.

    I've seen so many people try to argue with me that Warsoul beats R9 that it's just plain sad. Personally, I'm content with just shaking my head and laughing at them now.

    In the investigation of R9 versus Delta

    These are the R9 Bonuses:

    2 Pieces = Def. LV +10
    3 Pieces = Critical Hit Rate +1%
    4 Pieces = Att. LV +10
    5 Pieces = Def. LV +10
    ----> So even by this point having the armor and the weapon is pretty cool.
    6 Pieces = Att. LV +20

    As for the Nirvana set:

    Items equipped Bonus
    2 Pieces = Atk. Level +5
    5 Pieces = Def. Level +10
    6 Pieces = Def. Level +3

    I suppose you can re-cast the Nirvana armor though so there is a plus. It just means a lot more buying charms. Ah well, those Nirvana runs can get really expensive if your doing 'Free-to-play', especially if all that 'coin' is going on Crab Meat and Herb Yuanxiao. b:chuckle

    The only warsoul weapon that might be worth getting is the warsoul claws/fists over rank 9 dph weapons.

    Just noting that the prices listed in the OP's post are no longer accurate. Both Medals and Chips cost less than what is listed.

    Medals in bulk cost 20 Gold each and it takes only 4.9995 Gold worth of Chips per General Summer's Token rather than 5.33125 Gold. Rep Badge prices have stayed the same.
