begginer to mystics (need help)

i can;'t reach teh strange old man...even WITH double jumps. o dod search google and all it did was get me to a place i could double jump...and still not reach the ledge...can some one pelase help me? i've been at this for a hour.

    why can't you reach the ledge? are you running into its lower edge, without getting high enough up, or what?

    It will take a couple tries, but it is possible to double-jump from the broken pillar up to the platform. Just stand on the closests edge of the pillar--as close as you can without falling off--and time your jump carefully so that you double jump at the top of the first jump's arc.

    It takes a while to pull it off, but all you need is one successful one.

    Actually you need to do the second jump just after you start going down from the peak of the first. The timing is tricky, but a little patience and it can be done. =)
