Question on Fashion and Colours

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me.
I'm interested in purchasing some fashion from the Boutique... but my questions are:

1. Do they come in a completely random colour? or
2. Do they come in the colour firstly previewed in the preview box?

I heard many versions, but don't really know who to trust in... I just don't want to go spend my money in something that will make me spend more money if I don't like it (in pigments).

So, shall I try to buy what I want when I see a colour that I want when I click the preview button?

I'm a little bit confused :b

    1. Do they come in a completely random colour?
This. Fashion lands in your inventory in a randomly chosen color when you buy it straight from the boutique.
You can take your chances this way, or wait and hunt the catshops/auction house for colors you want.
Or buy and dye, which can end up being costly, depending on the colors you want and the fashion set it is.

Depending on the piece of fash..Getting a random color can be "not that bad"

Yes, some pigments are really costy (Black beeing around 1.5 mil each these days on my server) but you can also use Dragon points to get random pigments (at 500 Dq points each). Today, got my shorts black on 3rd try. Sure they are just 1 pigment to dye but 1.5 mils VS 150 dragon points..I'll take my chances with dragon points...
In game chars (Raging tide, over a year im here)
    Sir_Puma (BM 98)-- L_y_n_x (Barb 85) Cyres (Cleric 69)
BurningHeart (Wiz 34)-- LadyPuma (Veno 57,used as bank char)
Vincinator (Test seeker lvl 46,RiP)-- Amup( True Seeker 71)
Powerleveld chars : None-- Quests done : Too many b:surrender

i dont have any solid proof of this, but after playing this game for years, i have a theory that, somewhere in the coding of each person's character, affected by the colours you choose for eyes/hair/skin, and the other steps you take in creation, there is a factor that has an affect on what colour your fashion will be when you buy it off the cash shop. its not a hard and fast thing, something you can count on, it seems to be that you have a higher likelihood of getting a certain colour each time. with my veno, for instance, she almost always winds up with a blueish purple, so i've made lemonade out of lemons and made it her signature colour.

my daughter and my cleric both wind up with shades of green, more often than not, though there is the time i got a ballet dress, and its a dark, brownish maroon...bleah. so its sat in my bank since it came out-i dont like it, and even though i've AHed it a number of times, at giveaway price, no one else does either. but overall, that was one of the 3 times i've gotten fashion in a colour other than the blueish purple.

I agree, my veno has purpleish/pink eyes:
And everything she has gotten has been a purple kind of color, like so:

I third the eyecolor/fashion randomness :] My veno has dark purple eyes and the one fashion I've gotten from shop (bikini top) voila happened to be this dark purple color XD

Note- this was when bikini tops were first put in and it was a very big thing to have one because before then all the rich girls had bikini's (anyone else remember those days?)
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]~Lol dont you just love those random stalkerish guys~b:shocked

this makes me think its based on eye colour...my veno has eyes as blue as i can make them, but my cleric and my daughter's veno both have black eyes, and get fashion in shades of green.

i have a lot of alts, but they all get 'hand me down clothes', so i dont know how it would work with other races.

That would be great, because one of my alts has white eyes and hair - I would buy the item I want with her, and then send it to my main :3
Unfortunately, it seems that it doens't happen to everybody :/

If you take a look at the boutique items description the ones that you can't dye because they come on a fixed colour you can read the light blue message: Fixed Colour, Unable to dye., others sais: Random Colour. x Pigments to dye. Good Luck :p

The fashion colors are random and to say that its based on eye color, hair color or anything else is misleading to the OP or anyone else.
Coincidentally getting matching colors or colors "similar" to the eye color of your character once in a while does not prove the existance of any in-game mechanic that works like this. My character doesn't have a bit of pink color color to him, yet the amount of pink fashion I get is astonishing, or perhaps there is a game code trying to tell me something.
This is similar to "theories" about how, when and where to open packs to maximize chances of getting something good. Its trying to see some kind of pattern or order in a completely randomized system.

I just hear so many theories about that that I just don't know what to believe anymore (:
I think the best way is to try my luck, and if I don't like the colours, just dye it in another one with the random pigments from DQ points :3
