ZOMG Fix the RUBBERBANDING ALREADY

Actually, this isn't a QQ thread. It's the opposite.
Here's a comparison.
During a one week period, approx 2 weeks before the rocks expansion (current expansion), I was rubberbanding 5-10 times in a 2 hour gaming period. It took between 30 seconds and 10 minutes to get UNSTUCK, and sometimes resulted in painful charm **** or death.
Over the past two weeks, I have rubberbanded approx 5-10 times, total, and it took between 2-5 seconds, average, to get out of the rubberband.
Rubberbanding is still there, but... It's been vastly reduced. I can dismount at max altitude at the head hunter, and not get stuck.
I can dismount at max altitude into water, and not get stuck.
I can even jump on an NPC's head on accident, and often times, not get stuck now.
There's random instances on steep hills where there will be a Rubberband that requires me to fly and unmount from flier to get out of it, but there's no more of this BS where I get stuck, fly, unfly, get stuck in the same spot, fly, unfly, rubberband back to original rubberband spot, rinse and repeat.
So... Something positive happening with at least one bug? I think so. I just hope the fix is permanent this time. b:pleased

You're still rubberbanding once every 5 minutes, getting stuck in it for up to 20 minutes, and about ready to rage-quit?101 Sage Sin*/Archer

so ur waliking forward and rubberband in the air........ cant walk forwards??
solution !!
walk backwards this works
fly the drop this also work0 -
I'm not sure if this works for you but doing a somersault flip (pressing x) while jumping on the stuck area helped me fix my rubber banding when I'm on the hill or some rocks (this solution works prior my quit date...lol). It would be annoying for those who doesn't have an aerogear yet, but it's a quick fix for me.
But all in all, it's sad that this rubber banding had been around for a couple years and none of the PWE staff seem to care to update us about the status of it being fixed or when it will be totally fixed.I quit PW and all its games it had to cater to me. I'm off playing a better pay-to-play game where I experience no glitches, no spamming LF squads, lose stuff in PK mode, lose exp on death or anything for cheaper price than what I paid for here. However, I'll still be lurking around pwi forums from time to time. Quit Date: March 4, 2011 RIP my beloved characters. b:bye0 -

Yes, sadly.
Reply to most others:
While there are temporary fixes, rubberbanding still is a current issue in the client.0 -
Rubberbanding doesn't bug me unless it's in instances where I can'y fly. b:angry Otherwise I'm pretty well adjusted to it and hardly even get upset anymore. XD[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

<.< Lately I haven't had problems with rubberbanding at all. Sure, I'll get thrown back once or twice every now and then and it resolves itself quickly, but really, when I game it's like 4-8 hours at a time, and only getting rubberbanded once or twice is awesome =D
EDIT: Maybe it's just Sanctuary getting better? 8D[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Jumping on npc is or landing from the air is causing epic rubberbanding. But this should be already a well known bug and fixed. Other is "Disconnected form server. User unkown" or whatever or the rebirth bug where on squadmember can't enter and dc's and can't even force log back. Help!Middle lane, middle lane.. b:shutup0

I've landed on many an NCP's head and since the last couple updates, and I personally have had no problem with that causing rubber banding. <_< I miss it when there was no rubberbanding. Back before there were fish.
Good times.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

rubberband:
instances: stop moving. it stops in a few seconds. then jump your way out.
outside: honestly im surprised not many think of flying their way out. it instantly stops rubberbanding[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]lagunal8.deviantart.com

I personally have seen no reduction in the frequency or severity of RBing, what i have noticed is an increase in bad lag since the expansion. PWI need to either get a better host or spend some of their millions on infrastructure in the way of their own dedicated server hardware. What kind of fool pays for a free game.0

I've actually had less rubberbanding as well, which has pleased the Ink. Glad others have noticed too. However, I have stopped doing BHs recently so I can't say if it has stopped within instances as well.(Which is where it was most irritating, for me at least.)0

the problem is that the chinese version has this issue too its not pwi's fault we rubberband its the MY version they fix it and we will get our fix.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.0 -
They added it to prevent speed hacks, I guess, but was there really a problem with that before?0

Im happy. cause the rubberbanding seems to be quite a bit less but the disconnects have got worser. Also which they'd fix the stupid DELTA BUG where you get knocked back to TSC. Should really FIX THAT as well, considering its been 4 YEARS NOW also considering this is PW CN's version I would of expected these sort of issues to be fixed up -- "When its done" is fine as well.b:laugh

Rubberbanding is the same for me. I have noticed a couple times I *didn't* get it when I landed on an NPC's head, but at the same time I have rubberbanded way more frequently lately just trying to run down small hills (not even on a mount). Very annoying when you are on a low level alt and have to continually relog to fix it... you notice it more then.
Two days ago I was running down the street in Archosaur and I rubberbanded. That was sad. Not even a freaking incline (and you can't fly when you are on a mount).
I also rubberband every single time I am in Eden on one of my alts (I have three that go in there atm), though that one always eventually fixes itself if I stop moving. Still annoying, especially on cleric if people up ahead are fighting and need heals.
But I have given up on thinking they will ever fix rubberbanding. I gave up when I saw they added a warning in the tips to not land on NPC's heads. :P[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If you are outside..just turn on your wings then back off again..duh.
If you target a npc to drop on...don't drop on it,or if you do then turn on wings and back off again.
If you are on a mount and are rubber banding either stop move around..or just get off the dumb mount?
If you jump off the bh platform to the aea below..jump towards the water then double jump to the bridge..it's not hard and it avoids the banding
See simple things like this isn't hard to counter banding.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=2527935005&dateline=1300027633[/SIGPIC]

The panda isn't usually one to complain but Fuzzy has to agree with Jellytoast on this one.
The worst rubberbanding in the game Fuzzy has encountered is taking the initial bridge on the right hand side through Smythii Valley inside Lunar Glade. It catches the entire squad and the mobs on the other side have destroyed the charms of a few squad mates. b:cry0 -

Whether or not that was supposed to be sarcasm, that is actually true.
Rubberbanding is the devs' halfass way of trying to prevent speed hacks and haxing through models.
The only reason why its more prevalent now than it was back some years ago is because the devs thought it would be a good idea to make it more sensitive. (also server lag plays a role in this as well)
There is no fixing rubberbanding, since its not a glitch, or a bug. There is only a switch on and off, at least from what I understand.0
