uhm oki, so im a bm who likes to use my polearm for dueling, i ocassionally use axe for stuns n fist for some varieties in my dueling style.

so this bm challenged me to a duel, and i noticed he's a 3.33 aps guy which i figured that i might not stand a chance with ( im only 1.82 aps). so as the duel went by, i did some kiting and using some of my obstacles as my advantage, and eventually i won.

after the battle, my opponent was saying like "wtf are u doing", "why are u kiting?!?",
"your not suppose to be kitting!!" and i told him that i was just using my polearm skills to my advantage, i told him that i prolly wont win agiants u with a straight up fight with fist n stuns and so i resorted to my polearm skills ( i knew he didnt have a polearm but had some well refined TT100 fist n TT99 axes ), which im more well equiped.

so i was wondering, are BMs just suppose to go in a straight up battle (melee battle)? are bms vs bms just suppose to go straight up fist fight till the death? am i "allowed" to kite when i use polearm skills to my advantage? or am i just suppose to ignore my weapon variety skills and just centralize myself to this "no kiting rule"?b:surrender

tell me what you guys think!! ill be open to any feedback :D

Anyone with a brain should know that they should not tank an aps'er.

People say that kiting in a duel is not okay and is only acceptable in PK, but who the hell cares what those people say?

If you wanna win, you have to kite lol.

I got archerpures health down to about 30% in a duel just by kiting her anti stun then punch-locking her. And I was only 85 with 1.67 base and level 4 DBB.

Just out of curiosity, what's that bms name?

To quote one of my favorite fighting movies~

"Ok, so here were my options.
    A. Quickly duck left, dodge the claw and take him out with a spinning back kick, OR
    B. Take the claw in the face, roll on the ground and die."

I think you made the right choice in kiting. XD

You get that a lot on PvE server. Back on Dreamweaver, BM vs BM in PvP was just both tanking eachother's spark.

I don't like dueling/pvping archers and venos mostly because of the kiting. They're very killable, but alot of what the duel is is playing chase or tag and it can take forever and is more annoying than an actual duel ( <3 Sin's tele stun). I prefer to duel other melee classes where there is very little kiting for this reason, and I'm guessing thats what your opponent expected.

So the answer is kiting is fine and a great tactic solution. If your opponent had a spear he could have turned and ran and he could have kited you. It's just annoying and prolly not what your opponent expected in the duel.

sanc must be a bit better than i thought then aside from our "specials" i dont think i've seen anyone try to tank a 3 spark in the last month or 2

The world is changing. Every aps'er realized that 3 spark isn't very effective in pk.

I went on for like the first time in 2 months a week ago.

The thing that bothers me is that every bm/sin, pro or not, actually knows how to cancel. How do they all know all of the sudden?

Yes they do. I seen Bms spark cos the sin sparks too and go into aps war and hope they win etc. I know i got decent hp and all and maybe things have changed when i had less hp b4. But i dont really believe u need to demon spark and to go into a punch up fest vs a demon sparked sin and hope for best. wat would i know, they say BMs on RT are.. substandard *shrugs*
