Archers are very cheap to play. Are you doing the following?

    - Using expensive arrows? If so, don't, unless you are in PvP.

    - Using a lot of MP potions when grinding? If so, don't. You should change your attack sequences when grinding.

Ugh, I forgot what the other common money mistakes lower level archers make...

Teleporting. :P A lot of newbies tele to arch and other places that cost even more, when they don't have millions to work with.

@OP: If you use a lot of MP while grinding... yes, using a simpler attack strategy is important, but even if that doesn't work, it's nothing Focus Powder can't solve. Seeing as you already go mat hunting, just be sure to grab those two herbs (Crane Herb and Salvia Root) while you're out and you should be good to go. You should not have to use regular potions as long as the Focus Powder is active (and in 10 minutes, you can burn a lot of potions with a high-MP grinding strategy).

EDIT: As for making money... until 80+ you probably won't make any serious amounts of money, but just keep up the mat-hunting (and hopefully herb farming) that you already do. After 80+ you should have a viable chance at completing the Cube of Fate, through which you can make money in several ways. At 90+ the Cube also gives you a Page of Fate which can be used for sage/demon skills or sold for 300k each or so... and you'll also gain access to a quest known as the "OHT daily" which can net you an extra 50-60k or so. Finally, try doing the Snake Isle mount race - you don't have to win, just completing it gives you a Badge of Speed (10 badges can be turned into one Sign of Speed, which I often sell for 800k-1mil).

Get better gear, and don't use as many skills. Spend a few mil on a bow or wind and clouds, and refine it, and all you'll need to do is stun a mob, then auto attack it to death.

I've never used the cheapest ammo. I always get the best ammo I can. But, I never spend 24 or 40 coins per unit of ammo on it, ever! I set up a catshop with some coins, and buy my ammo for 4-6 coins per unit, as many as I can afford. I also ask if anyone in faction has said ammo, and either buy it off them, point them at my catshop, or they just give it to me (I got 10,000 Steel Bolts this way, free). NOW, If I run low on the good ammo, which is unlikely as I have 25k of the good stuff, I'll use the cheap stuff. But... Again, the good stuff kills mobs faster, and reduces mana pot costs, hp pot costs, and armor repairs.

Once you get a G13 level bow or above, and it has to be a bow, get into a faction with a faction base. Doing the dailies will get you contribution, and you can turn that into free arrows that are WAAAAY better than anything else available.

Avoid the AH for ammo. It's a huge, huge, huge ripoff. Good god, people sell arrows for 100 coins per arrow! b:shocked I've seen normal, non elite arrows for 1,000 coins per arrow! b:surrender NO THANK YOU!

And if you have crafting skills up high enough, and you like farming mats, you can just make your arrows/shot/bolts for free.

As for other mistakes... Hum. I can't think of anything to suggest... The more damage you do, the faster your mob dies, the less likely it is to do damage to you, the less repairs you have. Doesn't mean you need to buy a +10 wind and clouds with two sockets and two perfect Garnets in it. I used a +4 Wind and Clouds, and it did really well. Rank 4 armor is also quite worth it. Just make sure you shard it well, and it will last you a while.

And a handful of other alts, all 79 and under.

I would say: pay attention to how fast you earn coins, and pay attention to your biggest costs.

If you can find alternatives for your biggest costs, that can help, and if you can spend small bits of coins to help you avoid activities which do not earn you anything, that can also help.

WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG dude, seriously dont listen to these nubs. Archer is a luxury class, well thats how i call Classes that are mostly Pvp Oriented and not PVE like barbs or clerics etc.
your best bet is to Get to lvl 60, lvl up ur STA and make urself usefull in TTs.
TTs will prolly give u the highest amount of income, or u can grind mobs and get like 100k every 2hrs LOL. I know cuz i use to do this when i was lvl 6x it was a pain.
Try Going on Lots of Call of Duties, to get 3* gear and molds and what-not.
Thats the best advice i can give u.

Dude i know, cuz i have a lvl 100 Archer and i got Tired of Csing so i made Classess that allow me to grind more easily: Like A bm or cleric.

Archers are cheep till 85/90+, if your spending out big time before that lvl your doing something wrong

and at the Nub above me, you say shes wrong but you dont actually state how she is wrong; and further more how is she wrong when she is offering money saving advice?

before you try to even create a valid argument on a forum learn how to structure an argument and make it a good one.

so next time you come in here all guns blazing thinking you are so pro, consider the fact you may not be

I motion that we banned all pvp server archers who doesn't have more kills then me (a retired archer) from posting. After all... who needs to hear from an useless arrow dispensing device if they can't even get more kills then an carebear.
    1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
    2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
    3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

Ok, but be careful here: teleports can save you money.

You need to know approximately how many coins per second you earn (this should be a range, for different kinds of activities and depending on your luck, you just need to keep track so you have an idea).

Then you can compare how much time you save for the teleport (convert that into coins) with how much you would earn if you did not fly (and you have to estimate that when you make your decision). When the numbers are near equal, it's no big deal (unless people are waiting on you)... (This mostly works for choices you use frequently.)

Teleporting is a huge expense. When heading back to archo take the extra min to go thru the cube of fate. It's a free Tele to archo aka 3k. Try flying to locations instead, you can save a lot by doing that. People like to stone in but that's a min of 5k and when u get to my lvl its as high as 50k. So save money and fly.

Don't buy cheap arrows, takes longer to kill stuff with will make you pot therefore costing ya 800 coin for being cheap.

I'm not the best archer around but I like to setup myself before I attack to kill more efficiently. With at least 2 sparks I start with take aim, then aim low and normal attacks. Mobs die before they even hit me once including range mobs. If a mob comes within hitting range push them back and frost arrow follow by normal attacks. Playing smart.. means your costs will be reduce. I most pay for only a few things now and I find myself sending my seeker and bm money from my archer now.

Don't stop teleporting entirely. :) Any TP to the capital cities costs only 1k... just tele out to them and fly from there to your questing locales. After Lv40, you can get back to Archosaur for free by tunneling through the Cube of Fate (talk to the Khatru Pup, pick "Enter the Cube of Fate," and then run through it to the exit watcher... you'll appear in Northeast Archosaur).

And a pretty bad one, too... seriously, PVP server superiority-posturing? It's like he stepped out of a time machine from 2008. XD

Woven fang arrows (the cheapest one) is all you need to kill mobs before they reach you. Better arrows are for killing BMs before they reach you.
