if you are going to put a limit on how many pwi accounts you can have per a IP have u need to let us have more Avatars per a account

    ya i need more then 16 toons lol i like variety and i have toons on almost every server and when 1 toon gets boring i switch toons or servers to keep interested so ya give us more ave spots

    Different builds, farming alts, catshop alts, bank alts, you could easily use more than 16 slots.

    for example i'm a sage vit build, but maybe I might want to make a demon strg build barb some day that's two right there
    Lost City Sage barb and Retired Coven Marshal.

    I usually play around with unusual builds on various characters, so I need every space I can get.b:surrender
    Plus I got characters which I level up at my own pace and chars I level with my wife when she's online, so that adds up real quick.b:surrender

    I would have to agree. People also forget that some house holds share computers/IP addresses. So while one person could have 16 characters all to themselves if they have their own computer, someone who shares would have to have less if everyone that shared that computer wanted more then one account/character.



    You can eat through a LOT of characters out of boredom.

    They never said you couldn't have more than two accounts, they just said you can't have more than two online at the same time.

    misunderstanding they have made it that you can only have 2 accounts per a IP if u have 3 people in your family and all play on there own account you may have a problem with the new set up only 2 of you can play one will loss that is what is happening


    for me atm its one mane and one all time cat shop if i wonted to add another cat shop i am not allowed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Restatting would be a lot cheaper and less time consuming than making a new char, getting it 89/9x/100, and buying it all its skills.

    I guess I didn't think of making a bunch of alts for storage and catshopping. Still, it shouldn't require more than one account, just one thats dedicated to these alts...

    Also, 8 chars on one account is more than what a lot of mmos will allow you to have (at least for free anyways).

    From Frankie :

    * You may only have 2 accounts per person, regardless of how many computers you own.

    There isn't a viable reason to create an excessive number of accounts, so any suspicious activity from now on will be fully dealt with. We aren't going to punish you for having existing accounts prior to this rule, but you can only be online on two at once at the most.

    *Note: Excessive account creation has been and will continued to be pursued. Provided you did not abuse this before, you should have nothing to worry about.


    * You may only play on two characters at the same time, but they can both level up OR one can level up while the other is a vendor alt.


    AND

    *Example: If you're a family of 3 playing PWI, then you can have 2 accounts for each member of your family. You WILL have to prove this though if we notice any suspicious activity from your household.


    Not too hard to understand... U are alone to play..You can have 2 accounts running..If you and ur wife/husband and a kid all play. You can have 2 accounts per computer logged, as long as you can prove that it's 3 different person operating them..

    Well..That's what I understood from it..And english ain't even my main language...

    In another game I played over a year ago, they had similar issues.. And when in doubt, they would ask a certain time for people of same household to log together, go same spot and ask them to all move differently, or emote/cast spells, etc...

    The limit isn't new. It has always been limited to an extent with an invisible rule.

    About 2 years ago I had made like 6-7 accounts to make genies and trade them to myself. Long story short...it wouldn't let me create any more. I sent a ticket and waited about a week...nothing.

    I finally found a phone number and called. "What do you need this many accounts for?" is about all the response I got before they told me they limit accounts. They also banned a few.

    Gotta love PWs ability to inform the players on exactly what is not allowed.

    OMG - I am limited to only 16 characters and 2 on at a time! NOOOOOOOO!!! I want 60 on at a time with 1000 different characters!!!b:chuckle

    Really people. For the longest time it was 1 account logged per person at a time with 8 characters. People asked for more and PWI gave it to you. 100% more and now your complaining more then when it was 1 account.... I guess the old saying is true "Give an inch, take a mile." Simple solution, go back to 1 account. There was less complaining then.

    It's not like the rule ever even mattered. Everyone knows how to multi client. If GMs are never in game who the hell is gonna ban anyone. Lulz.

    I thought you were allowed to run multiple accounts as long as there was only one client running per machine. Did this change or was I misunderstanding the rule all along?

    (I.E. Sometimes I would have my sin on my main desktop, my cleric on my laptop, and a catshop on an older/crappier desktop).

    i like to have one char of each class. i'm greedy that way. that takes two accounts.

    i might like to have a third account for catshopping, so i can have the shop up regardless of which of my "gaming" chars i decide to play on at the same time. the way the rules go right now, this would seem to be a no-no. i guess i'm not allowed to merchant.

    It's not even necessarily a case of "greed" so much as wanting stuff to do.

    Like today, while I was doing World Quest on my two main accounts (which is super boring with all the afk time while flying from one NPC to another) I decided, for giggles, to start a character on a PVP server on the account I normally catshop on.

    The same was true while I sat both of my mains in Arch camping WC and local chat for groups for BH. Sitting around waiting for BH groups is boring, but I like to be logged into both while waiting, so that I can hop on the first group I see that I can join.

    All three accounts were logged in on unique machines, and I hadn't seen the sticky about the changes, so I hope I don't end up getting in trouble for it.

    1. I am getting sick of a poll every time something changes

    2. I only take polls more than half seriously if first of all the post had a proper title and opening post, which means NO spelling and grammar mistakes in the title and minimally in the actual post, which should actually say something besides restate the title. In addition to me being a spelling/grammar ****, if you can't even organize your own thought process and convey it coherently how will anyone else take you seriously enough to use your poll for their decision making?

    3. Unless you're just doing this for the lulz and not to affect some change in the future.
