[Server Maintenance] 3-29-2011 11pm PDT [Complete]

Hey all,


We will be having server maintenance tonight from 11pm PDT to 1am PDT!



And for this week's question...


When you created your character, did you use one of the default character templates, or did you customize it yourself? If you customized, how long did you take at the customization screen?

    Patch Notes Version 501
    Released March 30, 2011


    User Interface

    The virtual keyboard for the password at the login prompt now correctly defaults to lowercase letters.

    The timer on the Genie's trade state no longer bleeds out of the interface.

    Removed the Chinese that appeared when clicking on the player trade windows.

    Cleaned up some more of the interfaces within the Faction Base.



    Misc

    Shattered Nightspike Crystals are no longer "Shatterd Nightspike Crystals".

    System announcements for the Bidding Hall have been edited and are now shorter than before. Some changes will be more dramatic than others.

    Expect much more next patch!

    always customize....be fast with maint...and add EG 79/100/spark/lv11 thx:D
    Favorite thing about sin? When you drop a character and immediatly get the spamming Whispers " Why you gotta pick on low levels" "nothing better to do than kill lower levels" etc...It makes me smile to inform them, they are higher level than me....b:laugh

    I customized mine, but not as much as I should have(And normally do.) from the template. It weirds me out when I see other venos with a face similar to mine.

    on topicish: 1st char was customized some not much tho, saw that u had time to change it.

    There was a period of time i spent way too long customizing, now unless i want something to look outlandish i just do colors & adjust features the way their supposed to be, such as ear height (the center of your ear is in a horizontal line with the center of your eyes), etc.

    I always customize my chars. It can take me anywhere from 2-3mins to more than 10, getting everything the way i want it. The bulk of that time is used trying to come up with a name. I usually try to pick a name that kinda goes with what kinda char im making, and i dont mean stuff like Sintastic or DrCleric (apologies if you actually have a char with those names, im not trying to trash you). Im talking bout stuff that might see someone running around with in RL.

    I find the preset closest to the look I want, then modify it.

    It took me 45 minutes to make my Mystic.
    1 hour 20 minutes to make my first character on PWI.
    52 minutes to make my wiz
    45 minutes to make my psy
    45 ish minutes to make my sin.

    Customize, of course. I don't get why there is people who likes to play whit the same face as others hundreds out there. If something makes PWI a good game [besides a few other things], are the customization options, even when Tides and Earths limited them a bit. [hate their somehow plastic color preset faces].

    That video is awesome, the song is even better. My problem with drawing faces is that I spend fifteen minutes picking at every little detail of every feature. If the eyes aren't exactly the same shape and size, if the nose is perfectly centered. I tend to do the same thing when making characters in the game if I think about it too much. Then of course I get the character into the game and it looks completely different to me and I buy make over scrolls and change it all again...

    I took 4 hours to customize my veno. It was one of my favorite parts of making new char's.
    I hold all the keys to every realm... You killed me my love so in turn I shall be your reaper till the end of time.

    Er... That should be "PDT", not "PST", since we're in Daylight Saving Time now, right?

    Anyways, early manual download patch link: Patch 501 (10.8 MB)

    As usual, do not install this patch until after the servers have gone down for maintenance or you will not be able to log into the game. It's bigger than the 8-9 MB for normal minor updates, so probably a few more fixes in there than usual.

    I used a template, but then modified it to suit my tastes.

    And how long... I think my fastest was probably around 15 minutes, considering I play with almost every single setting. My longest was for my venomancer, Cherrey, which I probably spent nearly an hour on. b:surrender

    It's just a shame that the tideborn and earthguard classes aren't as customizable as the original ones.

    I created in less than 10 minutes. Took longer in Seeker.

    When the old bugs are fixed, how to get stuck on the floor and buff priest?

    Quite right, thanks for catching that. It seems like only yesterday I switched from PDT to PST.. how time flies.

    I customized mine, but kept working on it through the two days of free modification. I am going to also use my makeover scroll on my Seeker to get rid of the ponytail...

    Now to find a hairstyle that I like...b:surrender

    EDIT: On a side-note...why wasn't the skin for the Preview button updated with the rest of the site?

    I spend up to an hour on my characters, then change them atleast 5 times during the 2 days modification, and then use the free makeover scroll basically as soon as I get it and buy a few more after with DQ points because I always find something I want to change. b:surrender

    I customized all of my chars......took a long time to get them just right...since mycleric all together I have 13 chars scattered across two servers LOL so yea it took awhile.

    Customize of course. I always customize my characters and I always take about 45 min. I hope maintanence will be quick tonight. ^^
