Server question

is the difference between a server (EAST) and a server (WEST) the server time?

because i live in europe and i have a charachter on santuary (WEST), i LOVE doing TW but TW in sanctuary are always at 8PM server time wich is 5AM in europe wich means i always need to wake up at that time wich i dont like xP

So my point is: if i go to a east server will i be able to do TW at a normal time for europe?

    West cost servers are located in California. East coast servers are located in New Jersey if I'm not mistaken. East will be better time for Europe but it's mainly about location. They put servers on the east coast to be closer to east coast players and Europe to reduce the lag.

    The server time for east coast server is EST.

    The difference between east cost and west cost is only about three hours, so assume that their on the same time on both sets of servers, you have a three hour difference. so, you'll be waking up at 8 am instead of 5 am. (I think)

    Unfortunately, PWI even with international in it's name, is geared towards an American market, (hence why the servers are based in america) and will probably not make an event at a "normal" european time, because that would be a time where most of the player base (american) would be asleep/busy/at work/school.

    four total time zones involved (eastern, central, mountain, pacific) but only three hours difference between them --- because it's the steps between the zones that count when figuring the difference.

    US/Eastern time is usually GMT-5 hours. daylight savings time complicates this some, however. from a European perspective, playing on the west coast servers may actually be better --- getting up at 5 a.m. for an event must be a nuisance, but at least after that's over you can probably simply stay up and call yourself an early riser. as opposed to playing on an east coast server, getting up at 2 a.m. (or staying up to that time), after which you'll likely have no choice but to go back to bed if you want any sleep at all...

    5am EDT(-5) = 4am CDT(-6) = 3am MDT(-7) = 2am PDT(-8).

    3 hours. And you'd be waking up at 2am for TW on east coast servers instead of 5am on west coast servers.

    I still hold its 4 hour difference since I subtract 4 from my current time to know what time it is on cali.

    3-4 hrs time difference. For me tw starts 1 hr earlier than the time on the server. And I'm from AL, USA.

    The Servers entry in the wiki explains this:
