Suggestion to PWE Staff about Rank gear.

So i was thinking at the Nirvana gear. They were recast from Twilight Temple and Lunar, and probably will be recastable when new gear coming out? who knows.


But let's see at Rank gear. You cant recast it or upgrade it. Let's see at the people who bought Rank 8 before sale and they refine weapon to +12 for example.

and then Rank 9 come out...

They want to get rank 9 and get stronger, but what happened to +12 rank 8 weapon? wasted of course, because Rank8 weapon cant be upgraded/recasted to rank 9. This is pretty much kill motivation of Rank gear people.

Why is Lunar/TT is recastable,you can even transfer refine sockets and everything, but Rank gear people are screwed?

What will happen when Rank 10 comes out for example? Ppl with rank 9 gear +12 everything will be screwed, because their gear cant be recast nor transfer refines.


On the other hand Ppl with nirvana gear might be able to recast to newer gear? just speculation, because it was recastable all the way from Lunar/TT.

So my suggestion is: Make rank gear's shards and refines transferrable? so people dont have to start over refine from +1.

    Or you know, have a pack sale that makes the next rank cheaper than actually farming TT and NV.

    Basically what I got from OP was:


    QQ, people who work hard and farm their gear get a benefit, why can't people who bought a billion pieces of out-of-date armor get those same benefits while they cause the market to spin wildly out of control and make PvP/PvE/TW insanely unfair?!

    You didn't farm it, you bought it. You honestly don't deserve recasts. People who actually worked for Nirvana/TT earned those recasts. The end.

    unless it's from the 70's, no one wants to revisit that era.

    also: if they had farmed their rank, they would either have A.) already quit B.) would understand why it's not right for rank to be upgradeable like TT/NV

    People farming their nirvana gear?

    People with the best nirvana gear, at least in Lost City server, are the biggest cashshoppers.

    And on the other hand I know people that never wasted a single cent in the game and entirely farmed their rank 9 gear, even the reputation.

    There is nothing wrong with nirvana or rank gear, in fact some people use a combination of both.

    So then rank people should QQ everytime there is double drops? Come on, nirvana is really easy these days.

    And like in every game, maybe the next gear is named "Vulcanus", it should be farmed in the new "Vulcanus" instance and rank, nirvana and warsoul gears get obsolete and you have to start from 0 again.

    You never know, it is a matter of choice, preference, taste, w/e.

    Rank gear effectively owned Nirvana gear, so I don't know what you're talking about.

    That's why I never considered Rank weapons "end game". I mean really, if you know they can't be upgraded why bother? You know something better will come out sooner or later.

    My R8 bow is something to use until I finish farming a G15 Nirvana bow. It'll have better adds, refine than +5 and better gems than double Shabby Garnets (no joke).

    If you're talking about the Regenisis bow? then no, it won't be better than rank 8.

    how many people farmed rank 8 really, i think there are 2 on HT.
    even some of the biggest cash shoppers on HT have not forsaken their +12 r8, mostly because they dont need to. sure a +12 r9 would be better, but you knew what you were buying when you bought it. cant be traded, cant be upgraded, what you see is what you get. i would be more pissed if i got a +12 2nd cast nirvana and then r8 sale came, and people could get a comparable weapon for 1/10th the price and a pro ring and interval top to match.

    maybe your new to MMOs but periodic introduction of new and improved stuff is par for the course, keeps people interested and striving for more, keeps people grinding and playing, otherwise you just get i big circle of people in west arch showing off their gear and doing nothing.

    and i could be wrong but im pretty sure you can transfer refines on any piece of gear with chicken stones at the boutique agent, just like it costs to transfer refines on nirvana recasts.

    Rank gear still sucks for BMs, Sins and Clerics tbh.

    The only Rank 9 piece worth getting seems to be the ring and possibly the belt for me.

    but +120 atk lvl God of Frenzy sin...you can probably one shot someone with a dagger throw

    It sucks in the sense that the sin can't permaspark farm...but you can just wear some cheap R8 + TT99 **** and wear claws for that.
