    I'm sure their Server provider is able to prevent a Ddos attack... I'm quite sure they pay top dollar to keep it secure.

    I work for an ISP, we can't prevent DDoS from occurring. The best we can do is attempt to provide answers of where the DDoS is coming from. Once we receive a subpoena for the information that is, until it is subpoenaed we can't give out any info. If the attackers know what they are doing then they will be difficult to trace. All they have have to do is use a laptop that only uses public networks so the BOO number is never linked to a home [or at least the attackers home] network. And if the DDoS is coming from certain countries it is likely that nothing can be done.
