Machinima?

I've gotten to thinking... WoW has all kinds of machinima makers and parody musicians. I'd say its time to put together a machinima crew within Perfect World. Who else agrees, and who wants in on it?

    Recommended reading for aspiring cinematographers.

    There are a few people here and there who do filming, but on the whole PWI hasn't done much to really encourage it. They had a couple video contests in 2009, then more or less forgot about the idea.
    I've been working to fill the gap, since the community voted in favor of a new contest in February, but getting things organized has been slow going. I hope to have something posted on that tomorrow.

    Thank you for the abundance of information. Who knows, maybe a machinima community could develop even without such contests, if people just have fun with it.

    Not totally true, if PWI became a channel partner with machinima they could make cash, but of course they would have adverts randomly poping up all over there vids, not like it matters anyway.

    Oddly enough, it wasn't until after watching some machinima that I took an interest in online games. If anything, it's like free publicity for the game-makers. What self-respecting company wouldn't want good, free advertising?

    *1 year later*
    Pwi rages after all the rich players leaving and stop paying them there money, Not enough money to keep the servers up. Pwi takes what little money is left and vacations to hawaii and the servers shut down. The end.

    Once there's a significant downtick in revenue that yet-another-economy-****-pack-sale won't fix, they actually do things that benefit the overall game in hopes of regaining that revenue. Example, you ask? TW rewards. b:pleased
