I see Chi and Sparks and different items that have chi and I know I need it to do different things but what is it and how do I use it. How do giving myself chi help me? There seems to be no information about what chi is anywhere. If you have sources please let me know.

"Chi" is like the other form of mana. You use mana (mp) to fuel skills, yes? Certain skill consume more or less mp. Caster classes rely almost exclusively on mana to fuel their spells while close range classes utilize mana to fuel special skills and attacks.

Chi is used for certain skills and spells that tend to have a more specialized effect. Sparks consume only chi. Many skills consume only mp, some require both mp and chi. The most common form of chi usage is probably "sparking" which gives a temporary boost to attack power and speed.

Giving yourself chi helps you to use sparks and other such chi-related skills. you can gain chi through whacking something, anything. Attack a monster and you'll notice that the grey bar below your hp/mp bars begins to fill up. You can also gain chi through embracing someone, potions, and through skills (assassins have inner harmony. Sage (insert whatever class) have Master Li's Technique".

You "use" chi by accumulating it through the above means. When you have enough chi to meet the requirements of whatever skill you want to use. When you have 100 Chi (your bar will return to being grey, but there will be a small shining lightbulb by the bar), you can spark for 100% more weapon damage. At level 59, you can use 200 chi for spark+ for 300% weapon damage. At level 89, you can use 300 chi for demonic or celestial eruption for 500% more weapon damage and a 25% increase in attack speed or 25% in reduced damage taken, respectively.

    Hoped that helped :)

at level 11, you can have a maximum of 99 chi, and this only if you've completed the spiritual cultivation quest you were given at level 9. if you've done this, your cultivation level should be "spiritual adept"; check your character statistics screen to see if it is.

if you've done that, you gain chi by hitting things. attack stuff, the yellow bar where your character name is --- underneath your HP/MP bars, near your portrait in the upper left corner --- should start filling up. that's your chi bar.
    [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.

Also, please, if search doesn't turn up an answer for you, start a new thread instead of necroing and old one. Posting in threads that have been dead for over 30 days is frowned on here (see the forum's posting rules.)
