Cleric's skills in macros & out
I'm level 13 Cleric and , untill level 23 we have only 2 attack spells :
Cyclone : Mana - 24 , Cast time 1 s. , Cooldown 3 s
and
Plume Shot : Mana - 35 , Channeling 1.5 s , Cast Time 1 s. , Cooldown 1 s.
Cast Time 1 s and then channel for 1.5 s ? In this way 2.5 seconds are lost , which should be used for attack .
So , should be ONLY ONE TIME : Channeling or cast time
Our next attack , Razor Feather is learned at the level 23!
and 2 major healing spells
Blessings of the Pure Hearted : Mana - 70 , Cast Time 1 s. , Cooldown 1s.
and
Ironheart Blessings : Mana - 49.5 , Cast Time 1 s. , Cooldown 1 s.
To play efficiently as a Cleric , I must make a combo/macro mana/cooldown/attack efficient , like :
Cyclone > Plume Shot > Ironheart Blessings > Plume Shot > Cyclone > Plume Shot > Blessings of the Pure Hearted > Plume Shot
The macros/combos are cooldown-dependant
Whis this combo , at a mana of 796 , a cleric is efficient , but loose
all mana after one attack .
What I propose :
Razor Feathers to be learnable at level 12 , not 23 . If we would have more attacks , the mana loss will decrease and attack will increase

<_< 1, you get thunder ball at lvl 16. Granted it's not a very powerful attack until later on, but it's a 3rd attack, plus damage over time, so you can cast it once and it keeps hitting while you're on your next attack.
2. Pure hearted is a very sucky heal, I'm not even lvling mine this time around. Ironheart is your main, and wellspring surge is a much better (not to mention faster) instant heal for emergencies.
The channel/cast times are fine at your lvl, you shouldn't need to spam heals that much for killing one mob at lvl 13. If you are, something is off with your stats. ^^''' Plus, I can get through 15-20 mobs my lvl currently without needing to pot/meditate and surviving off my own heals. Because I only use mana on 2-3 attacks per mob.
Later on you can get minus-channeling gears/pots which cut down on time a lot.
At your lvl, I was 2-3 shotting mobs with plume quill and cyclone.
To play efficiently as a cleric, kill the mobs before they hit you. Stack IH when they do. b:sin (ignore my avi's lvl, restarting on a new cleric after getting to lvl61 with a fail-stat one. Full mag ftw. )[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

b:thanks Well thank you Liba<30 -
1 .I used Blessings of the Pure Hearted , because heal bigger HP than Wellspring , but , I think I will use Wellspring Surge
2 . Hit the mobs before they hit . Is good , but you can use cyclone and plume shot once , because the distance between you and them is very low and they advance quckly . In game say 20 m , but look like 5 . The distance should be doubled , in my opinion.
The only problem is that there are 2 channel/cast times for Plume Shot . What would the logical reason be behind this ? I wonder . The rest are ok , at my level
Thank you for your advices0 -
Cyclone and Plume Shot don't tend to macro well, what with cast times being shorter than cooldowns. I tend to just do it manually. Just hotkey the 3 big ones (Cyclone, Plume shot, and Ironheart) to # keys that are easy to reach in a pattern, and it's a piece cake.
Also, yeah. Purehearted is a bad heal. It's horribly mana inefficient, and slower than necessary. Always, always Ironheart when in doubt... Ironheart heals over time, which is handy when you're taking damage, and it stacks with itself... it's also the most mana efficient heal we have (most hp gained for mp spent on it), and mana efficiency is a big problem for us. Wellspring is nice for a quick emergency heal, and you learn some really nice heals later on, but it's best to leave Purehearted out of it altogether.
If it helps, I meditated a lot at that level, because I ran out of mp so fast. Mana consumption is a huge problem for clerics, so play smart and have patience. The teens are the worst levels of a cleric's play... it gets much smoother after that. I recommend learning apothecary, because hp and mp powders are handy tools all the way through your 70s, when you get cheap mp food.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
-Ignoring my main for alts since early '090 -
Untill my level , I didn't need hp portions , because the I used Ironheart and the Blessing a lot , but I , also , died only because I used all the mana , after the blessing . Plus , with all the healings , you have problems with your mana , not HP.
Thank you .0 -
srsly.. on your lvl mp pots drop from almost every mob.. once you hit the 3x lvls this prob gradually decreases. i always keep an eye on my mp bar n seldom let it drop below half using mp pots back then. saves yer butt in tight spots.0

im not sure what sort of cast times u have but my cyclone and plume shot macros can continue indefinitely...if given the chance i afk and use the repeat plumeshot and cyclone macro on bosses. i just went and checked ecatomb just to make sure casting time didnt change as u level...
something is wrong with your macros...make sure u arent filling in the first skill and the last skill with the same attacks...

Why do you need a macro at level 13? O.o
Also, Cyclone and Plume Shot macro fine together...you just have to watch added channeling. Once you reach a certain % then you might have to add in a debuff but otherwise, I have never had much of an issue with putting those two back to back.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

As Deceptistar and Deceptistar said, Great Cyclone and Plume Shot work together just fine. Also it has a very good balance between mana cost and damage dealing, it will be the most used macro for a very long time. On my own i just made some adjust when facing metal mobs or tough physical mobs by adding seals on it.
What might be happening is you are setting your macro wrong... At first you should know about the "loop mode", that icon with a curved arrow called "Walk Behind Enemy" (i think they still call it like that) is actually a loop, meaning that you can make a macro like this: "Walk Behind Enemy" > Great Cyclone > Plume Shot and leave the remaining slots empty. A good tip is, ALWAYS use Great Cyclone first because it has a high chance to decrease enemy's speed and so it will get to you a bit later.
About the healing part... As everyone else already said, Blessing of the Purehearted is a useless heal (mine still lvl 1 - I actually use it to make chi, mixing with Wellspring Surge by macro). What I usually do is attack the mob with the Great Cyclone/Plume Shot macro and once the mob get close to me (often after 3 hits) I stack 2 IHs and go macro again. It will make all your quests much less painful.
At higher levels just doing it to kill a mob wont be enough, so i came up with this macro, which i thing is wonderful: Silent Seal > Great Cyclone > Wield Thunder > "Walk Behind Enemy" > Great Cyclone > Plume Shot
And for really annoying physical mobs:Silent Seal > Elemental Seal > Great Cyclone > Wield Thunder > Ironheart Blessing > "Walk Behind Enemy" > Great Cyclone > Plume Shot
But still... if you think you might need some heals, just heal yourself and go back to the Great Cyclone/Plume Shot macro because the seals will probably be in cooldown and i wont be able start the macro again.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
