Anyone use Crossover Games to play PWI on a Mac?

I'm also having the same problem with the new Genesis version, when I try to start it I get a blank screen and it crashes.

Where can I find the old Raging Tide version to download again so I can get this working? If I try to download through Crossover it automatically downloads Genesis, and I can't find a link anywhere for the Raging Tide version. b:sad

OMG I got Genesis downloaded through Crossover working! When it finished installing I selected for it to launch now, and when it came up I had it download patch 2, not sure if that made a difference. But when it was downloading I switched it to windowed mode and this time it actually opened! I remembered in the past it's automatically set on full screen and I have always had trouble with getting full screen to work so I thought I'd give that a try and it did.

I'm not sure if it'll keep working though, as CrossOver doesn't have Perfect World listed under programs. I looked up a solution for that to put the elementclient.exe there and use that to open, but before when I tried to open it always gave me the blank screen and crash. I haven't tested since I finally got the game running right though. I'm afraid to exit it to try it ._.

Either way, I was able to get it to work when I had the Rising Tide version still. I only uninstalled because I was having serious lag issues I was told reinstalling helped others with the same problem. How I got it to work then I opened pwi as usual, when the first pop up comes up select "later" instead of "update," then when it sees the client isn't up to date the second pop up comes up, hit confirm and install the automatic. It took a really long time to download that way, but it worked fine aside from the lagging problems I had, which I don't think was specific to macs or crossover. The only difference is that way will still have the brown with gold borders start up from Rising Tide as opposed to the new green with the seeker girl and the tiki on the sides.

I hope this helps at all, and hopefully I can get the game to keep opening successfully this way. Let me know if you need me to be more specific or descriptive on how I got it working.


Edit- It does work now, I just have to open the element client each time to get it to run and it doesn't crash anymore.

Yeah it was automatic, with patch 2. I'd make sure you switch to window mode not full screen too just in case that's what it was that got it to stop crashing. Those are all the things I did to it and it worked.

Awww I'm sorry

When mine first started it flashed the white screen a couple times but each time it went back to normal and hasn't done it since. Maybe try playing around with it first before giving up, see if you can do something that gets it to work. It took me several times uninstalling, downloading, and installing and trying different things for me to get it to work.

If you still can't, I'd suggest trying to get the old Rising Tide launcher back, open it and try the update through there. That's how I got mine working the first time. I never had the white screen or crashing problem when I did it that way. I'm not really sure where to find the old version so you can download that though

apparently bootcamp comes with leopard?? i have the newest Mac OS X. u would think it would come with it. idk. but someone said that Bootcamp assistance alone isnt enough to run games?...
