Hi all ^^,

I just returned to pwi after like 3 years of not playing and I have a question. I wanna play just to help other people because I love to do that. The only thing is that I don't wanna be a veno or a cleric. So whats would you all recommend to play as class ? I don't mind being a tank or a DD. And could you please take the demand of how much the class is needed in squads into your consideration ? I don't wanna roll a class that no1 wants in there squad ^^.

Already really thanks for the answers.

With friendly greetings,
Degamer

Ps: Sorry for my english ^^

Well the most highly demand class are Clerics, Barbs, then DDs.

If you want to be useful in a squad i would say pick a Barb. They are usually in high demand, well next to clerics that is.

But also pick a class you wont find boring, for myself i tried playing sin and bms and couldn't enjoy their game play. So pick a class you will enjoy and not get bored a week later.

You like to help people, but don't want to be a cleric? b:chuckle

The two most in demand classes are clerics and barbs, so I guess, if you want a squad-based build, you'd best go barb. They have a nice hp buff for their squaddies, are good riding for us slower squishies (as long as we're female, anyway), and are never, ever turned down for a squad. As a cleric, I <3 my barb friends.

DDers can have a bit more trouble finding squads, but if you're good at what you do, you won't be kicked out and you will definitely help out. Every class has something they can do to help, so if you roll a DDer, it's really as much about playing smart and playing well than it is about what your class is.

I thought barbs don't "tank" in their later levels (90+) and are rather used as a DPS instead? I would roll with a sin/BM if you do plan on getting to that point of the game (meaning, being lvl 90+) because when 5 aps kicks in, barbs are kind of challenged to do any tank jobs. However, with the earthguards around to play (I think of them as more crowd control type classes) and we all don't know how their future skills will be like since no sage/demon skills were posted, you may want to think about your choices whether you want to DPS or be a support DPS with small damage.

All in all though, my advice would be to roll a Herc Veno as you're almost able to tank most land mobs (help people with bosses and instances), solo instances, which gives you the perk to make money, or a Cleric, since they are getting good at solo grinding poison mobs and the fact that they usually get second pick on runs, not to mention, you'll probably need another character to make good money for your "supporter" character.
I quit PW and all its games it had to cater to me. I'm off playing a better pay-to-play game where I experience no glitches, no spamming LF squads, lose stuff in PK mode, lose exp on death or anything for cheaper price than what I paid for here. However, I'll still be lurking around pwi forums from time to time. Quit Date: March 4, 2011 RIP my beloved characters. b:bye

Try a barb, or even a Mystic. I would say a BM, but you said you enjoy just helping people.. And BM's don't exactly get very helpful until around level 80+. But, you could always make a Mystic, it's a new Earthguard class that just came out with Genesis. I've been doing a bit of fiddling around with one, looked at the skill descriptions etc. and it looks like they're going to be wanted in squads, they have a heal that, in my opinion is up to par with a clerics Wellspring Surge heal, along with 2 or 3 AOE Heals, one of which looks like it may be a constant AOE heal, along with the fact that they have a buff that, upon death you can instantly resurrect in the same spot without a cleric having to do it. They also have Pets, that you don't need to buy or feed etc.. you get them as skills, different pets for different occasions. Even a tanking pet (although no one is really sure how good it is at tanking just yet I don't think.) as well as having decent damage output.

While suggesting a mystic is nice, the OP wants a class that will be willingly accepted into a squad. Since the EG's are still very new, and counting on if they didn't powerlevel, their need to be in a squad will be very minimal for a long time. People don't want to be squaded with all EG's in their BH's, it'll be like the All-Sin squad all over again.
That being said, with the new release of classes, the most in demand classes will be cleric & barb- most of them are probably playing their new, shiny EG and people will be looking for them more than ever now. It would be the perfect chance to really play your class in squad roles when Bounty Hunter comes around.

If you don't like venos and clerics, don't play mystic.
