Ok first of my specs:
Ubuntu 10.10
ATI RADEON HD 4670 1gb
Catalyst 11.2
Wine 1.2.2
Perfect World International GENESIS

So before i start i have to explain that i'm new to ubuntu (just installed it last week) and that i have spent all day trying to get this to work....finally did, no glitches, and full resolution on.
This result is a consecuence of reading this guide kindly posted by DemonDeer:
http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=579982

So let's get going

1) install Catalyst 11.2 u can find it here http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/Ati-Catalyst-10-12-11-1-11-2-Ubuntu-Installer-65122.shtml
(if that doesnt work just google it)
once installed make open System/Preferences/ATI control center (administrator)
make sure everything is on PREFERED configuration
then go to "more settings" in the 3D menu (on the left side) and enabel catalyst A.I
last but not least open your terminal and type this command:

sudo aticonfig --set-pcs-u32=DDX,EnableTearFreeDesktop,1

This will enable the antitear mode wich will stop the tear of ..well images on your desktop

BTW: make sure u have installed the private Fglrx drivers from ATI/AMD (this should be done from System/administrator/Additional Drivers)

2) Install Wine 1.2.2 (haven't tryed with 1.3.x so stick to this)
then, install winetricks (for the way to do this look DemonDeer's guide)
once u've done this open winetricks and install these packages

http://i55.tinypic.com/104me0j.png

P.s: aditionaly install gecko, and ie6/7/8 (any of them will do just in case)

3) open terminal and type:
regedit

IMPORTANT: HERE IS WERE THINGS TAKE A TURN AND STOP GOING LIKE ON DEMONDEER'S GUIDE

A registry window will open here you'll look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder (on the left), then inside that ull look for Software folder, then Wine folder, and here you'll create a new Key called Direct3D, inside this key you'll create these chains:
(IF U DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS THERE ARE TUTORIALS ALL OVER GOOGLE SO DON'T WORRY)

DirectDrawRenderer "opengl"
Nonpower2Mode "repack"
OffscreenRenderingMode "fbo"
PixelShaderMode "enabled"
RenderTargetLockMode "auto"
UseGLSL "disabled"
VideoMemorySize "ur actual video memory size (in my case 1024)"

Ok once this is done just download PWI installer and run it under wine
Install PWI:genesis let the launcher patch everything.
Once this is done on the Launcher click on "graphics" enable the windowed mode and shut of the shadows.

And that's it you're ready to go!

BTW: if this doesn't work you can look at this other here to see if you can solve the problem

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9923

Thanks to Wine community and DemonDeer for the help on how to get this thing going, i hope it helps those of u who are wanting to play this game and aren't able because you think it won't run on ATI drivers.
