PWI Opening Trouble?

I've recently relocated my PWI onto a Mac, it runs fine and all, but whenever I attempt an update, (i.e. Receiving a message saying "New Version Found, Update Now"? And press yes, select the servers, but this error message appears and the client terminates before update even begins:

The program patcher.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/ for tips about running this application.

A few things...

First, I do run Crossover Games for PWI.

Second, I did go to the compatibility page, but I received no helpful information.

Third, This has been happening even before Genesis released, if there's no update, this message appears after I commence the game and terminates the updater, but leaves the client running.

Fourth, on the "Update Now?" Confirmation dialogue box, if I press no, the game updates still and when I start, it runs fine, but this message still pops up after i start my client and terminates my updater. But the client runs fine.

Fifth, I do need this fixed as this will prevent every future update, as I run a Mac, I cannot get the manual patch from PWI, so I have to do it the hard way and update from my updater. But the error message states patcher.exe doesn't work.

Sixth, reinstalling the client does not work, this would be the 50th time or something, but this message still shows.

Seventh, no, Crossover Games is the only good program that runs, I cannot get Parallax, WINE, or anything else, CG is my only option.

If someone can help me with this, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks :)

    Have you tried downloading the full client from our download page. We suggest using the Direct Download option if you are unfamiliar with the Bit Torrent. This client will already have the Genesis update within it.

    I did. This is how my client is running currently, like I said, the game runs fine, but the patcher.exe cannot run notice pops up and terminates the updater after I get into the client, eventually, this will stop a major update. :)

    I have the same issue but I have never had the game to start.

    I got the free trial of crossover games to see if it worked, downloaed PWI through codeweaver's website. Then immediately it requires an update, I did this and when it updated I clicked start.

    This is when I get the same error message as at the beginning of this thread, so I am left unable to play at all :(

    Please help!

    ive been getting the samething but mine also says its a virus and stuff and i dont know what to do ive downloaded it soo many times im kinda getting sick of it >.< so plz help if you guys can or fix it all for us b:cry

    I know that you're on a Mac, and this thread is based on Linux, but they are rather similar...

    it's worth a shot anyway.

    I never did understand why the archetecture of the client doesn't run on Mac/Linux since the server client is on a Linux system.
