it opens then just closes... any ideas

    How far in to "opening" do you get?

    On start up?

    On log in?

    After character selection & entry into the game on that character?

    The only thing that comes to mind for me are the times the game crashes to desktop. This usually happens when I AFK fly somewhere (e.g from Archosaur to 1k Streams).

    It occasionally crashes around Windswept Grasslands. Shining Tidewood seems to be another black spot sometimes.

    During this time, the game would crash to desktop after character selection and entry into the game.

    After repeated times, I tried pressing my hotkey for my aerogear as soon as I had selected my character and was entering the game world.

    Seemed to work.

    Hope this silly anecdote helps.
