File download appear error?????

I tried to start the game for the first time and when i run the updates "it says file download appear error" and it give me the option to try again or stop download......anyway i can actually play the game...please any help would be greatly appreciated :D thank you

    I am having the same Problem, the update is getting stuck at Island3_n.mp3.

    I am having a similar problem, the green bar on the left is almost full and the purple bar keeps loading elementclient.exe and then again and again and then I get the error

    Any help?

    Here are some things that might help you...

    Add the game folder and/or game file to the exceptions list in your firewall or antivirus software.

    Example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

    You also might need to temporarily disable your antivirus, MS Security Essentials or Windows Firewall long enough to download, install, patch and login to get into the game, and then turn it back on. Sometimes disabling may not help and you will need to add an exception for the game folder.

    It might be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin (such as running the game as Administrator), UAC, network, or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking or throttling the game.

    You can also try changing your proxy settings for Internet Explorer 8, to have them turned off here: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > and then untick all of the proxy settings.

    I get the same error. My antivirus isnt blocking it so not the problem. I tried downloading the manual patch and i get the corrupt file error. I believe there is an error in this patch somewhere, not an error with my computer which is a new computer with Windows 7 operating system. It stinks that i can't play PWI, guess its another MORPG for today and the near future.... until PWI developers figure out this problem.

    none of this helps; it just sticks at elementclient.exe and repeatedly retries and manual patch gets corrupt file error. pwi withdrawls.

    You guys need to go into your Element Folder Cut out your ElementClient and paste it to your desktop. Do not use it to try and get into game use the normal loader you normally use

    A minor problem with the Update/Download screen needs to be fixed.

    I was downloading the new update on my laptop over wireless at home. It seems to be taking so long and the process bar wasn't moving. I think something had interrupted the connection and basically the Update/Download screen was idling.

    When I restarted the download, I was staring at the screen this time. I saw a pop up message asking me if I like to continue with the download, but it was promptly wiped out by the rotating news and new features screen.

    That 'would you like to continue' pop up screen should stay on the very top display layer. Most people would start the long update and glance at it from time to time. Having the 'continue' pop up message written over is not good. Please fix it for us.

    btw: I plugged in the network cable and promptly finished the download, but I was watching it more closely for that 'continue' pop up message.

    The download is about 6GB. Please note that you need to have a fast and stable broadband internet connection to download and play the game with. Average download is 2-6 hours. Any longer, then you might consider getting a better connection or upgrade with your ISP.

    Your antivirus and firewalls can throttle the heck out of the packets during downloading and patching, resulting in incomplete and corrupted downloads. You can try temporarily disabling your security software long enough to download, install, update, and login to the game.

    i turn off and exited my antivirus and still stalled and loped the element.exe file. now what??

    just downloaded pwi and getting excited to play this, but then when i press start and start updating pwi version 484, it always say "file download appear error" everytime and dont know what to do i tried uninstalling and installing it again but same thing happens please help b:sad

    ive turn'd off antivirus adn fire wall protection, run as admin but i still get stuck at item_exe_desc.txt

    plz help, i was so excited to start playing this game again

    I thought it wasn't my antivirus as well but when I disabled it. It downloaded smoothly without any errors. You should disable your antivirus and begin the download until it's finished. Then turn your antivirus on at the end of the download and installation process.
