We as of now i am downloading the game but i wonder what class i should be. I am leaning more to ever archer, wizard, blademaster or mystic. Should i be one those or a different one? I prefer range combat because i like not taking damage or mages because i always liked being a mage.

ranged combat: archer, wizard, psychic, mystic, veno. maybe cleric.
magic combat: wizard, psychic, mystic, veno, cleric.
not taking damage: mystic, veno. sort-of cleric because it doesn't matter.

archer: ranged, physical damage. kills stuff before it reaches them. (well, once you get past the very first levels anyway... really early on you do a lot of running away.) not much to say, enemies try to reach you but drop before they can. uses skills to slow things down and push them back.

blademaster: melee; great flexibility, but needs a careful build unless you want to reduce that flexibility. takes damage, fights close in. uses skills, stuns and AoEs as force multipliers. look into the BM forum, because they'll know much more about this class than i do.

assassin: melee; simple, straightforward build --- the principle is kill fast and don't worry what comes later because pretty soon you'll be the sole survivor. uses skills to debuff and control opponents as well as to choose when to fight and when not. if you're considering a BM, you should maybe also consider a 'sin, which is why i added it.

seeker: well, if you're considering a BM... i know nothing of the class, though, so can't help with it.

wizard: magic nuker. hits slowly and seldom, but hard. the first few levels are worse than an archer's, you do much running away. you learn to pick your enemies until quite a while later. still, if you're looking for the hardest single hits you can get, a wizard's where to look.

psychic: i don't know the class well --- what i've seen of it was similar to a wizard, except faster hitting. the differences might become apparent later in the game than my psychic has reached. look into the psychic forum, they'll know.

veno: your own squad of tank and healer/dd. you fight at range, because your pet tanks. you take no damage, because your pet tanks. can be played very lazily --- too many do it no other way, regrettably. later on, becomes the swiss-army knife of classes, a jack-of-all-trades support mage and dd and ersatz tank; GOOD veno play keeps the player very busy.

mystic: i still need to roll mine... b:surrender looks similar to veno in some ways.

cleric: don't underestimate the class. magic damage at range, and if something gets a hit in back at you, so what? throw on an ironheart every ten seconds or so, it'll heal.

When choosing a class , imagine yourself how you would play each class at level 100 , and how you feel about each class and then you can choose

higly recommending a blademaster here because of high attack lvls but if you want a magic class go with cleric or mystic wizards can be frustrating at low lvls so i wouldnt pick a wizard

I suggest mystic if your new. Mystics are like in away veno (summoning monsters) and cleric (healing spells). if you want a close combat class try blademaster, assassin or even seeker (i personally have not tried the seeker yet)?

Well from my point of view:

There is currently a massive shortage of barbs, wizzies and clerics. So endgame, having any of those classes will almost always guarantee you a place in squads (though some people prefer the aps of sins, bms and archers).

If you prefer going solo in most things, try a veno. Having a pet to take the majority of your damage if amazing (but I notice a lot of veno's don't use their pets anymore and I don't know why. Kinda dumb b:angry ) Or perhaps even an assassin (being able to solo many things with the right build endgame with BP healing)

    If you like range:

Archer, Wizzie, Veno, Mystic, Cleric, Psychic.

However, if you don't wanna be hit, but still like the range I suggest Veno, Mystic, Cleric and Psychic. Cos in some instances (such as gamma and delta), playing an Archer or Wiz will be guaranteed taking a LOT of damage.

    If you want aps:

    BM, sin, archer

Hope this helps and welcome to the game b:cute

Welcome :D and it all depends on you preference on whether ud like a character that doesnt get right in there (ranged/magic) or a melee character. My first character i chose was a psychic who is a medium to longish range magic type user, then I created a cleric which is basically a healer.
I never created a wizard or a barbarian, i played as a blademaster very briefly and they are the basic warrior type class in any game. I cant say much about an assassin since I havnt played him for a while...but hes basically like a rogue...light armour and dagger user.
atm im playing as a seeker wich is a melee class with a few ranged attacks. like i said in the beginning, its all what you prefer. Have you played other mmos bfore? and if you have what kind of classes have you played?

No. For the first character, no one has a direct frame of reference for any play, much less endgame. A first-time player should not be worried about endgame right out of the gate. They can always restat if they decide to take their first toon that far.

Keep in mind that you have eight character slots per server, and multiple servers to play on... so there is nothing stopping you from rolling up every single class at once. Play each for 20 levels or so and get a feel for which style of play you like. You may be surprised which you prefer, and you can always keep the others around as alts for when you get bored of your main's gameplay. b:chuckle
