Hi, Im lvl 95 and working on my end game gear. I currently have full 4soc TT90 HA +5 and am wondering which gear path to take and how to get there. I am currently looking at tank build focusing in my Hp and just curious on which gears would give me best outcome at lvl 100. Also currently have Pangus giant axes but am looking at changing to higher lvl weapon and an wondering which i need for better endgame.

Also wanting to dabble in lil PvP and/or TW.

Any help would be grateful =D

Best tank gear at lvl 100 is something like this.

Full Nirv: (the Lunar version is slightly better imo)
top, legs, boots, bracers, cape, helmet and weapon.
Way to get it; Farm Lunar/TT for lunar 95 gear or tt99 mats. > farm Nirv for crystals/uncannies.
If you go TT you most likely will have to chip out most gold drops or have some op friends who wanna go with you.
If you go lunar farm for armor and Buy the weapon.
Farming all your crystals and uncannies for Nirv will be a VERY long road for a tank barb.

Buy Cube neck and Warsong belt. You can choose to farm the neck.

    Rings CoA/Lunar/Sky cover
Farm CoA/buy Lunar/Farm PQ3 (sky cover rings might be ***** to farm out)

Of course this is for lvl 100 at lvl 101 the best gear is r9 which is only available trough the cash shop.

Most of this will cost you a lot on either coin or time. If you have some idea of a budget there are many other decent gears out there.

*Edit: Note that when I say tank gear I am talking about high hp good defence. The best tanks in pwe 100+ are clawbarbs. you can read Rawghs guide about that.

For endgame barb weapons I'd go with anything with sac strike/zerk. In order of best to worse:

    Rank 9:
Nirvana 2nd recast with zerk (Unicorns Tragedy, Wheel of Warfog, Mountain Rock Hammer...)
    Nirvana
    Rank 8
    TT90 gold Gx axes
    Ashura's Purgatory
    Calamities.

Think thats about correct. Couldn't remember if Nirvana first cast had any zerk axes.

Edit: Btw, Dangerfield is right on.

wrong, imo rank gear is a bad choice for barbs (rank8 not rank9) and you would be better off farming NV or buying it with the money you spent to get something that's only slightly better than TT90

No one in their right mind is going to make tier 1 axe/hammer as an endgame weapon/

another thing to consider is rank cant be account stashed.

    This ^

Secondly, When NV came out, there was a direct line of upgrade from TT99 to NV, people who had TT99 (or lunar) did not get shafted and have to start from square 1. When the Next big thing after NV comes out (and this is just speculation) there will probably be a direct line of change from either NV or TT99, or lunar or what have you. The same can not be said for rank so as soon as something more OP than rank comes out, you will decidedly have to start from square one.

Secondly, rank9 is so expensive, not just the rep but the packs that I personally can't justify spending a used cars worth of money to get such. (But that's just me, and I'm a college kid)

I really honestly and truly believe you get more bang for your buck if you go NV, as well as the security (somewhat) that you'll have an option to upgrade it.

Rank 8 starts with about 40% more base damage but doesn't refine as well as even first cast Nirvana. I placed Nirvana first cast higher because I just assumed OP would be refining his axes...

The adds on Rank 8 are very nice, though. Either one really works about the same.

I'm personally of the opinion that for level 100, R8 weapon > Nirvana stage 1 all around for the purposes of TW/Tank/PvP due to the stun proc (which can turn into aoe stun - beneficial for tanking rebirth/catapulling), which is lacking on stage 1 nirvana weapons (at least the TT versions at any rate). Also to note is that while the stage 1 nirvana axes have a higher top end damage after refines, they have a slower attack rate than the r8 polehammer does, meaning less chi gain and potentially less damage out put if you just auto attack stuff like bosses. The HP add from eg: Invincible Smoker is 289 at most, whereas the HP add from r8 is 350 . The Aquarian Axe as a stage 1 nirvy weapon gives lots more HP than invincible smoker, refines for lots better damage than r8 will and boasts the same attack rate, but at stage 2 does not get the god of frenzy as a possible mod. Chaos Impact has higher hp, less damage than r8, and at stage 2 doesn't get a god of frenzy mod.

    As for the armors,
R8 Cuisses of Dominating Power provide superior physical defense above that of the TT 99 Lionheart Cuisses, provide higher hp base even without refines, refine for better hp at equal refine levels, and are guaranteed to come out with 3 or 4 sockets whereas 99 golds might come out with 2 sockets only. R8 chest also beats out the 99 gold chest in terms of defenses and hp, socket chances, and refines.

Personally when I upgraded my chest and legs from the 90 greens to the r8 armors, both my pdef and mdef got a 2% defense gain, and while buffed with vanguard and golden bell I've got 80% listed pdef while standing. My boots are still 90 green though.

While nirvana armors likely boast better defenses and hp gains from refines, and the legs at stage 2 give -int, I'd personally recommend saving coin flow till the next rep/chip sale and go for full R9, which while on sale can be obtained for about the cost of a single stage 2 nirvy weapon. thats just my opinion, and what I will be doing.

Correct me if I am wrong but full r9 is about 1500gold. Raptures on our server has of late been 900k-1.2m

Dont get me wrong for a resourcefull player r9 is the best option. the main problem as I see it is many players are already largely invested in Nirv, and many like to be able to use gears on alts.

    300,000 reputation / 25 rep = 12,000 badges
    12,000 badges / 50 badge stacks = 240 stacks
240 stacks * .45 gold per stack = 108 gold at max for the reputation

    General Summer's Token = 9,999 chips
Medal of Glory = free with dq points (I've farmed totally enough to get 6 so far), not sure the cost of them in coin b/c I'm not buying what I can get for free.

Ring of Trauma: 32 General Summer's Tokens
Battle Axe: 85 General Summer's Token
    Arms: 14
    Legs: 14
    Boots: 14
    Chest: 14
    Belt: 32

    205 General Summer's Tokens * 9,999 = 2,049,795 chips
    2,049,795 / 15 per pack = 136,653 packs
    136,653 / 125 packs per gold = 1,093.224 gold

    You are doing something wrong.
The chips for full r9 is 1100g on sale. rep 108. So its 1200 gold without the medals.

19 medals x25gold on sale or farm them out.
But saying the medals are free because you can farm them is basically the same as saying nirvana is free.

You can skip the belt problem is you wont get the last set bonus or 20 att lvls.

Raptures is nowhere near 1.5m on our server. when x2 drops come they will likely be under 1m again.

    Edit* General Summer's Tokens: 32*2+85+14*4 = 205

my apologies. i see what i did wrong. I forgot to add in the 85 summers' tokens for the weapon. I amended my post to correct that. however I will leave the figures for rapture crystals intact considering that when I first started farming Nirvana while the rep sale was on, catshops that were "B/S Raps/Cannies" would be buying cannies as high as 1.5 mil at times.

saying nirvana is free IMO isnt exactly the same as saying what you get with DQ points is free. If I farm DQ items and sell them to NPC I make coin + DQ items. If you farm nirvana and sell your mats you make coin, or you keep the mat, or you eventually do enough runs to sell some of the mats and make coins + mats, but isnt exactly the same thing as getting Medals of Glory with DQ points and looking at it as free. thats just my opinion.

or you could just be a merchant and it really doesn't matter what you have in your bag at any given moment whether you need it now or later, so long as you are able to use it to make more $$ to afford what you want.

Wow, exactly what Iv been looking for =D Thanks Baalbak, Definately looking at getting r9 without cash shopping. I figured with price of raps and cannies on HT being 2mil and 500k, farming nirv and sellin my mats should rack in some money in the long run.

o.o raps on HT is 2m? that is crazy high compared to the cost of r9.
before rank/chip sale the were 1.8-2.2 on DW since the price have slowly decreased. a few weeks back I was buying as low as 800k. seem to be back up to 1-1.2 now. Strangely cannys have not changed much and are 450ish.

    @Baalbak
I can largely agree with you. I havent done the math on the best way to use DQ items yet as I have mostly just casual grinded and npc'd them.
If however I was to grind a large sum of the same DQ items I would look at gold prices and how much mark-up I could sell the DQs in catshop to see which was most profitable.
