Just one question: Will barbs die?

Checked the Forum, asked people on PWI, didn't get a straight answer. I have practically no knowledge on Seekers, and I'm not planning to make on either, so tell me please, will Seekers replace my beloved Barbarian?

No, they won't. They might replace Blademasters in terms of which would be the better tank (assuming the Blademaster is not using fists), but aside from that, no. Seekers do not have any skills to increase aggro like a Barb does, and they do not have any buffs to decrease the damage they take like a Barb or Blademaster does (aside from a self buff that can increase defense level by 1, as the party buff version costs a mirage stone). I don't remember who said it, but I have to agree that it seems Seekers are more of a heavy armor melee support class, in that they have a lot of debuffs and can deal some pretty significant damage from what I have seen.
Edit: did just get a self buff giving 12 defense levels, so that's an extra 12 percent decrease on all damage. Still, not gonna be as good as a Barb.0 -
Not a chance.
Trust Fuzzy on that one. b:cute0 -
they are really not tanks despite the heavy armor. the other guy got it right, there more of a back up heavy armored support class. they also have a ton of AoE skills. they hit harder then barbs obviously, but they wont tank better then them nor will they have more HP then them.
there +def and atk lvl buffs suck btw.0 -

Saber Rattle and Krav Maga, yeah. Adrenal Numbness shows promise though, so long as the defense levels increase as you level it. If so, it might be enough to counter the Jones Blessing by quite a bit, on top of other things in PvE. After all, if a Blademaster can do pulls in FC at 87 uncharmed and without a HP buff, I imagine this would only make a Seeker even better if the defense levels do increase, especially since the HP bonuses of both Seeker and Blademaster are pretty much identical.0 -
No the Seekers are not tanks to me. Barbarians do the work a lot much better. Well I am a Barbarian and I am still playing on it... the only problem I have on this one is that I am toltaly ruined after having a try on some lucky boxes I bought...b:beatup0

If it cant invoke its not replacing a barb, ever.
It might be able to tank the lowermost dungeons with a cleric, but bms can do that. I do fb 89 with my bm friend all the time for books and were both lvl 900 -

According to ecatomb, at lvl 10 Adrenal Numbness should add 30 Defense for 30 minutes. Which sounds really cool to me.0 -

Can a Properly Built Seeker Play tank? sure probally can do a decent enough Job. Will a Seeker replace a Barb for big runs? Nah I doubt it. Not unless they get some major skills added later or something.
Replace Barbs? Dont see that happening as is.0 -
seekers arent tanks, nuff said. probably with max aps gears (how much aps is that if your using blades?), but then again the seeker isnt as op as bms....0

Max aps for seeker looks like 2.00 before spark.Blade Int = +0.90 TT99 orns x2 = -0.05 TT99 HA x2 = -0.05 TT99 Wrists = -0.10 Nirvana Legs = -0.05 Lunar Cape = -0.05 Tome = -0.05 Weapon = -0.05 --------------------- Total = +0.50 1 / 0.50 = 2aps

First of all the max level is 3.
Second of all I'm pretty sure the amount of def it gives doesn't change as you level.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

No, I don't think seekers will replace barb.
Seekers will be a good melee DD class with cool defense. I doubt they would out do the damage of a fist BM. QQ 99% Bm's are fist now b:chuckle .. Lets say seekers come on the third place, Barb > Bm > seeker ! That's what my idea on which position seekers would be as Heavy armor users.Girls are like phones...
We love to be held... talked too..
but if you press the wrong button you'll be disconnected! b:laugh0 -
Replace barbs...no

Uh, look at the skill tree in game, Adrenal Numbness can be leveled every 5 levels from 29 to 74, making 10 levels. Since it increases every 2 levels starting at 12, and it has changed for me from 12 to 14 at level 2, I can be pretty certain that it will reach 30 defense levels at level 10, like ectacomb's site says. The only skills that have a max level of 3 are the party buffs, which we weren't talking about.
So you must have been confused about something here, especially since none of the skills give a defense level of 3.0 -
Nvm lol, was thinking about the squad buff, their Adrenal Numbness buff is kinda irrelevent since they wont be tanking or anything. Good for PvP but in PvE doesn't change much.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

No..barbs are dying because they want to die =/. I can tank some on my seeker, but honestly a barb can do it better.0

Hopefully they won't be. I've already had people telling me to tank Qingzi just because I was a Seeker... the Wizard said he couldn't when he was level 46 with 1.5k health, and I was level 30 with even less. Yeah, there were two Clerics, but I still doubt if I could have survived the first hit even.0 -

that wizard is probably someone who is new.
With Earth Buff and attacking @ RANGE (just make sure cleric stack ih first). Wizard can definitely tank qingzi.
Seeker might have a problem if he stay @ range to tank qingzi since HA offer little protection against constant magic earth attack. Might have a chance if you close in and melee qingzi, but probably @ lvl 40Build Aiming for : pwcalc.ru/pwi/?char=99d12b053ed06fe9
Retired : pwcalc.ru/pwi/?char=a798089d5502e95b
17k hp since level 92.. now @ 13k Hp on 1000 -

Yeah, I know I could tank him at 40+, but since I would have had to close the range first, he would have started off with a magic attack first after seeing me, then I would have been dead most likely.0 -
I have a 92 seeker. I am obviously power leveling so I haven't bothered too much with refines and/or awesome weapons... yet. When I can get agro, I can tank just fine. Not because they have some awesome agro holding skills, but simply because I am heavy armor and can take a hit.
Tanking is more an attitude than a class ^_^0
