Hello! This is a guide i made for Mystics. I won't be writing about the
Pros and Cons for Mystics, because i don't find a necessity for it.

Contents:
-Short Introduction
-Attribute Distributions
-Skills Emphasis
>>>Offensive Skills
>>>Healing Skills
>>>Active Summons and in-depth informations
>>>Plant Summons
>>>Left-over skills
-Roles in instances

Introduction

Mystics, I would say this class isn't much of anything, they are more of
a Frankenstien made up of a Venomancer and Cleric Class. They can neither
perform the full functions of each class. They can capable of sacrificing their "Pets" to improve their own abilities.

Attribute Distributions

There are serveral builds avaliable, But i must emphasize on self-preferrance, some people like to be light armored, or more of VIT it is really up to your own preference . There isn't a standardized build. As for me, I personally prefer pure magic, or VIT build, since there is a pet tanker at your disposal. Here is the two builds I offer, as for the other builds, i won't be listing them out.

PURE MAGIC
STR = Armor Requirements
MAGIC = Remaining.

Comments: More of Damage Dealing and Healing, very low HP.

VIT BUILD*
VIT +2
Str +1
MAGIC +7
*Per 2 Levels.

Comments: More HP, Relative Damage Dealing, Don't over do the VIT. As long you hit more than 5k with Barbarian's buff it is enough. Thats about 3125 HP at least.

Skill Emphasis

-Offensive Skills
Lets start from the Offensive skills tree.

Name: Nature's Vengence
Info(Max Level):
100% weapon damage
+ 723 add-on damage
100% to slow target by 30% for 12 sec, which when under influence, Absorb Soul does twice as much damage.
Perspective: A very useful skill, it does moderate damage, which you can stay under aggro from your own pets (Devil Chihyu, Storm Mistress, and CraggLord), and it is spammable, combination with Absorb Soul, will be disastrous to the target.
Emphasis: Max this skill out as soon as possible.

Sage: 20% chance to gain 30 chi
Demon: Extra damage increase by 600

Name: Swirling Mist

Info(Max Level)(PVP):

    -Healing Skills
Now for the Healing skills, read only if you want to know the effect at it's final stage,
because pretty much you have to max it all. O.O

    Name: Break in the Clouds
    Info(Max Level):
    Heals single target
    30% base magic damage
    +330.
Perspective: First healing skill, and a fast one it is. It will be useful when your squad's cleric is out of commission/when you are the acting cleric in the squad.
Emphasis: Max this skill out as soon as possible.

Sage: 25% chance remove negative effect
Demon: 20% chance get 25 chi

    30% base magic damage
    +714
over 9 seconds after being attacked, within 1 minute.
Perspective: Unstackable, can be used for emergencies, or protection purposes, make
it known that it only last 1 minute before you have to recast it. It allows the person who
is buffed to take more damage.

Perspective: Totally own cleric's resurrect, HOWEVER, it do not reduce exp loss as much as
a lvl 10 cleris' resurrect. Excellent buff for a tanker/healer.
    Obvious downside, MASSIVE MP usage.
Emphasis: Pace it along with your MP pool OR Max this skill as soon as possible

Sage: Exp lost reduce to 95%
    Demon: Revive with 100% hp

    Roles

    Like what player Derressh said:
"The mystic is effectively the Druid class in another not-to-be-mentioned game. They are a "jack of all trades" class, meaning they can serve several purposes, but not to the extent of the classes that were made for those purposes and those purposes alone. This isn't their downfall, but what makes them so unique. That they can
change their role in a squad at the drop of a hat."

Neither Mystics are Pet Tankers, nor a full time healer.
They cannot tank as much damage or heal as much as a cleric, NOT to say they do not have purify(cleric's skill)

    --Frost
This is what a mystic should do in frost:
    >Through out the Frost
Give clerics and tanks their well-deserved resurrect buff once in 10 minutes
    >When killing bosses
Summon out a Salvation to aid your tankers and a healing herb, they are 100% at your disposal, if they die, just summon again. When you are free, deal damage to the boss.
    >When killing groups
Summon lightning mistress and use its hush skill, watch youself here, and don't over do it with your AOE skills.

And this is pretty much what a mystic should do in all general FB/ BH.

With good gears and refines there is the possibility that they can solo Twilight Temples.
    Credits
    -Ecatomb
    -Me(some minor exploring)
    -all who give constructive add-ons.

This isn't their downfall, but what makes them so unique. That they can change their role in a squad at the drop of a hat.

    Example situation:
You have a mid-level squad consisting of
    - 1 barb
    - 1 cleric
    - 1 sin
    - 1 bm
    - 1 archer
    - 1 wiz

You get to a boss and for whatever reason, the cleric dies in the middle of it. This cleric forgot to bring res scrolls, so back to town they go, to try and rush back into the instance. The barb is uncharmed with no HP food (like many low/mid level barbs are) and dies, resulting in a squad wipe.

Now, replace one of the DDs with a mystic:

You get to a boss and for whatever reason, the cleric dies in the middle of it. This cleric forgot to bring res scrolls, but they're in luck, because the mystic buffed them with their res-buff. The mystic switches from DD mode to support mode. The cleric is able to res, while the mystic keeps the barb alive with their heals long enough for the cleric to get back on their feet and buff themselves back up. Squad wipe avoided.

So I post on my Barb.

Nice guide, I like how the importance was included.. you'd be suprised how many guides I've come across that merely say what the skills are and not whether they are worth maxing or not so then you have to try and calculate them out -_-"

And guys, mystics aren't MEANT to replace cleric and veno. They are made as a support and the answer to the clerics "can res myself" issue. As long as the mystics arent stupid and remember to buff poor cleric just in case. Sure it is costly mana wise, but cleric res scrolls are 50k a piece. I'm sure that's more pricey then a few apoc pots to make back that mana.

Oh and note about the mystic knockback: unlike the other classes, this knockback works in pvp as well. So that might be more incentive to level it more specially if you are a huge pker or on a pvp server.

    Thanks, I needed this.

Just confirms that this is the class for me, a little bit of everything.

Before Mystic came along, I couldn't stick with a single class for too long since I wanted to be able to do everything, and now I basically can to an extent.

I feel like I can finally stick with a character now.

Thanks for the guide. A job well done. b:thanks

I'm just a little confuse regarding pet summons.

From what i have heard, our pet stat depends on the summoner's gear. Just now i tried unequip my gear, and resummon my pet, the mob done the same damage to my pet. I guess our pet's def doesnt depends on summoner's gear, but the damage done by our pet does depends on our weapon. So no matter how much def our gear has, pet doesnt gain any benefit. Can someone clear this out?

Aside from some skill that increase as our summon level increases, their hp and mp also increase a bit. So i guess lvling them up is essential. I only tried this on devil chihyu, not with other pet atm lol.

And lastly, sorry for my bad english b:surrender

Pets are NOT affected by summoner's gears whatsoever, b:heart, Actually, the Pet has it own HP and it increases with it's summoner level.

Like i said, Mystics are neither a venomancer nor a cleric at full potential, so, the answer is No :D

they are affected. take off your gear, then summon your pet. check stats. put your gear back on, and resummon. check stats again. you will see then, the stats change.

this is not true. i thought the same thing at first but they ARE affected by the gear of your char. in the lower lvls u just dont notice it because of how sucky the gear is at those lvls. but you will notice a big diffrence once you start getting better gear like rank 8 and rank 9 in particular. this is why the summons have the potential to be as good of tanks as hercs depending on what gear the mystics have on.

the summons work kinda like soul force for psys. the higher your gear is and the higher it is upgraded, the higher the stats of your pet summon will be. full potential of mystics cant be realise in just 3 days of an expansion so lets not put them off yet. there pets honestly do have the potential to be as good if not better then hercs/nyxes.

    Great guide, thank-you.
I think this should be stickied. Not only is it personal opinion, it's players opinion added in for even more versatility.

    Very organized.

Ok I guess it's a decent guide so far, gj. If I may have a word..

Name : Break in the Clouds
    Info(Max Level):
    Heals single target
    30% base magic damage
    +330.
Perspective : It literally makes cleric's pure heart blessing look dumb.
Emphasis : Max this skill out as soon as possible.

It was dumb to begin with, no one really used it. Our skill's more comparable to Wellspring Quaff.

    Name : Resurrect
    Info(Max Level):
    Resurrect single target
    exp loss reduced by 80%
regains 50% of target's max hp.
Perspective : Totally own cleric's resurrect, HOWEVER, it do not reduce exp loss as much as
a lvl 10 cleris' resurrect. Excellent buff for a tanker.
    Obvious downside, MASSIVE MP usage.
Emphasis : Max this skill out as soon as possible.

Well actually you might not wanna lvl it out from the start. No one's gonna kill themselves at low levels cause of a small % of exp loss, yet you are gonna kill yourself when you have to waste half of your mp pool to buff just one person. Sure you have to max it out eventually but I say level it according to your mp pool.

Well Spring Quaff belongs to the wizards. And since it is a 1st tier skill, it is only fair to compare with with a tier 1 cleric heal, Which is Pure Heart Blessing. Other than that, thank you for the input into Resurrect skill.

EDIT: Also I mentioned this because at lvl 10 they're very comparable which counts more than tiers

What about level 10? If it is 5 secs I will definitely try and max it.
