Anyone use Crossover Games to play PWI on a Mac?

Hey,

I run PWI on a Mac using the program Crossover Games. Anyone else using this method to play PWI too? If so- did your Genisis update correctly? If it did what did you do? If it didnt... what are you going to do??

So far the new update keeps getting canceled out for me by the Crossover Games program, so my only option is to uninstall and install PWI again... but the download button still contains the only PWI Rising Tide installiation... so pretty much if you go to install PWI from the site, you download rising tide version, then have to sit and update it again to genisis which takes forever!

I also wonder when they are going to update the download link so it downloads the Genisis version? This sucks now I cant play till I figure out what to do b:cry

    I use Crossover Games ive been trying to update it for hours now It keeps Restarting on the part that says LiteModel_(numbers).BMD im getting kind of upset about it though. what site did you dl the rising tide version from btw?

    I only have Skype, i'm actually going to class right now but I will be back in two hours.. my Skype name is breentke

    I sent a Help Ticket to the GM's, so hopefully in the next couple of days they respond. I'm sure they are getting a lot of other tickets and issues they have to work on.

    Well i got my Genesis working but... It gets stuck on the loading screen at the very end... After it gets stuck i get this white screen that blocks everything...

    how did you get it working? and you use crossover games?

    Ughhhh noooo I was so excited for the new class.

    Maybe I will try asking the programmers for crossover games to take a look into the issue, because I believe a lot of people who use Xovergames play PWI... so it would be important to fix.

    I suggest everyone making a Help Ticket under Support for Perfect World AND for Crossover Games that way they see there are issues with multiple people.

    Sometimes my cross over does that with PWI rising tide... try clicking on the blank screen with the mouse and give it time to load.

    Unfortunately it has been stated by GM's such as Ozimov that due to the game being designed for the PC platform, PW will not offer any support to those running the game on a mac platform.

    Fuzzy is sorry to hear you are having an issue. The panda himself plays on a mac however he does so using a bootcamp partition and a windows installation. If it is possible to get your hands on a legit copy of anything XP SP2 or later, and are running at least OSX Tiger it is quite a simple process (even easier with Snow Leopard) to create a partition and run it that way. It is much much better than trying to use an emulator or any other such work around.

    However, that would seem to be a moot point in trying to answer the OP's question.

    Fuzzy is going to move this thread to the tech support section of the forum. Hopefully there someone more knowledgeable about Crossover Games can answer your question.

    Thanks Fuzzy. I wish I was computer savvy enough to figure out bootcamp and all those awesome programs, but Crossover was the easiest for me /:

    I should make Mac smart friends!

    Anyways, i'm going to keep playing around with the update.

    * My last question and the most important it though, when will the download version for PWI be updated? When you go to download @ the PWI website it downloads version 402 for Rising Tide.. *

    Some one asked how i got the game working. Well it doest work fully because the game loading screen gets stuck on 99%.
    I loaded the game by downloading the second part first and after that i loaded the first. But once i got the game started it gets stuck on the 99% and i wont get to the login screen...

    Try clicking the screen when its stuck at 99% and then wait a min, mine used to do that. Otherwise were all pretty much f'd

    I know, I wish they had a Mac version too. I can't imagine how hard it would be to configure it all from PC to Mac though, but I think it would be worth it to them because they could have a lot more players. Ah well maybe some day.

    osx 10.4.11

    crossovergames v 8.2

    the game works fine for me, no problems with install or autoupgrade.
    im not an engineer so dont ask me how to make it run - maybe i have had luck?

    lvl version 8.2? how would i get that one. unless your just here to lie about it and you actually have a pc D= to make fun of us

    No solution yet, we do have a couple of tickets on codeweavers site now we just have to wait it out i have version 10.0.1 on crossover and 10.6.6 OSX
