lvl 96 AA tanking Phlebo o.o

So my friend and I need Phlebo for BH... We decide to duo it, without wines. It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes. I'm a lvl 96 AA veno, and he's a lvl 95 AA cleric. As most of you might know, a pet can't tank him. We decided to let me tank him in human form and spam magic attacks. It worked well until he decided to attack me physically... Luckily I have sage Fox Form, which boosts my phys def a lot. I was able to tank him, and look at the last SS to see our reward...

    I've been tanking/soloing pebbles in eden for more than 7 levels. Never wine it, unless theres someone else decides to tag along when I first go in. Otherwise, i just ask when i get to pebbles if anyone needs it before i kill it.

    I tried doing him with Aly. It does fine the first few minutes, and then he suddenly starts hitting really hard and she dies. Yes, she had her buffs on. Does anyone have an idea what goes wrong? >.<

    And yeah, OP kitty ftw. =3 I really like her, she's a great tank for most bosses. ^.^ I don't have a herc if you're wondering. I don't like hercs, so I OPed my little Aly. Got her myself at lvl 26, she never left my pet bag and she'll always be my favorite. <3

    My wife has been doing it since around 93 with her AA Psy. I don't get the point of this thread.

    Sorry, I didn't know tanking that boss, not the pet tanking, was something so ''who cares?''. To me it's something special, since I'm AA, which means I'm weak to physical damage. Anyways, maybe I should have put something else for the title. My point was great reward for the hard work. 3 coins, yay... ._.

    I guess a GM can delete this since I'm obviously getting laughed at. Thanks guys.

    He's actually herc tankable at level 89, if only barely...

    Might want to look into weakness (genie) or rib strike (sin). As long as she's not getting 1-shot while under curse, you should be okay. Have a cleric friend purify you when you get hit with the channelling speed debuff and it should be doable.

    I think I only had about -36% channel the first time I successfully pet-tanked him. As long as your heals are slipping in between his attacks, you'll be good.

    Kudos tho. I know more 95+ AA's who have attempted and failed at tanking him than those who have been successful. It may be frequent, but not a daily occurrance.

    The problem is that endgame Wizzies/Venos in AA can generally get higher pdef than LA classes like Archer/Sin.

    Although I will say your run would've gone a lot faster if you had gotten a Sin friend to help out. I solo those (although I wine them) in far less time than you took as a duo.

    No, she doesn't get one shot. Though I think I tried him before I put Blessing of The Pack on her. Thanks for the info. =] I'll try him again an other day. (and hope to get more than 3 coins... >.>;)

    My FL is mostly offline. I know very few sins, probably because I dislike them. They keep jumping on me with stealth and their crit hell and pking me... I'm learning to fight back, and 50% of the time I win, but the sins that attack me are mostly 99+.

    I think my veno friend and I were 90-91 the first time we tried Plebo with her tanking without a pet. Wasn't fast and wasn't pretty but the job got done.

    It's a debuff that Phlebo casts (he says something right before he does it). Here's a little trick you can use after debuff if your pet can no longer tank normally.

    Call the pet back to yourself. Since it shouldn't be in melee range anymore, Phlebo will just attack your pet with his magic attack. The magic attack takes him a few seconds to channel so you can simply heal each individual attack on your pet (1 x dmg = 1 x heal) for the duration of the debuff. After the debuff ends send your pet back to whoop some camel booty.

    He might debuff several times during the fight so stay alert.

    The debuff has the same icon as BM's Heaven's Flame skill and pretty much the same effect.

    Even if the Sins can't tank your BHes, their Rib Strike alone is enough to make your life easier. And a 50% survival rate against 9x Sins means you're either very good, or they suck. Try and make some Sin friends; the best Anti-Sin is another Sin that they don't see coming. :3

    Nah, they don't suck, or at least their gear doesn't... You can't really know if the player only has the lvl and the gear or if he actually earned the lvls and experience. I check after I pk them or when I see them again. They mostly have NV and/or rank 8 gear. I noticed that when they can't stun or deal dmg to me, I can easily pk them. 1-2 shots, sometimes very close to 1. AD ftw! b:laugh My gear might not be super good, but I have quite some tricks and over 2 years of experience. I'm not one of those noobs who hyper to 90 and don't know how to play the game. >.<;
