New expansion...worth coming back for?

Hey everyone,

With the new expansion coming out I am wondering if it is worth coming back part-time to this game. My life is very busy nowadays and I would only have time to play infrequently, mostly during the weekends. I haven't really had any time to read up on the new content, and I guess I am just trying to get the cliff's notes version from anyone who would be willing to give me an overview.

Although I wouldn't be able to commit a lot of time to the game, I would obviously be investing some $$, and I want to make sure that this game isn't dead before I do something like that. I see from the threads here that Zulu disbanded after nearly taking the map. Is Nurfed still around? If so, what faction is he in, and how many major factions are there at the moment?

It's been well over a year since I quit, so I guess I'm just hoping some of you can give me your opinions about the current state of this game and the Harshlands server and their outlook for the future. I would love to come back as long as there are still lots of people playing, the devs are addings some fun new content to explore, and some familiar faces are still around.

    The new content being added to the game seems to be really nice, but I advice you to play on Lost City instead since its far more competitive and you are willing spend money on the game. Most people dont go there simply cuz the TW are too late there for europeans or because they dont have the $$$ to compete. That server is not that much better then Harshlands, but certainly more active and has less chances of dying out comparing to here.

    Now there is an old name that brings back memories, hehe. Well, the run-down is that the server has become more competitive because of Rank 8 becoming the standard for every single active player and the +30 Att Lvl Charms without any defensive counter-part. The expansion brings a map reset, which means that (hopefully) a lot of new factions will pop up and try to gain a foothold on the map and establish a name for themselves. Server activity is still there, I think the activity is peaking right now because everyone is anticipating the changes and wants to try out the new classes and/or run their own faction before everything becomes a clusterfock of 200-member factions. Perhaps, this time around, it will be different and people won't feel the need to fill up their factions with 200 faces they don't know and instead focus on the 50 people they are closely befriended with.

    Anyway, the game in its current state is perfectly enjoyable even when you can only play part-time. The PK areas switched around from grind spots to certain hotspot areas like West Gate, Silver Pool, Hidden Orchid. So you can find PK when you want to, making it on-demand if you only play certain times of the week, which is nice I guess in that sense.

    There were 2 major factions on the map prior to the reset news arriving, they were Zulu and Crimson. Zulu has been retired in anticipation of the reset, but Nurfed still plays and we are creating a small faction for friends and fun. After the reset, I expect at the very least there will be 6 decent TW/PK factions on the map that can have interesting fights.

    That's about it in a nutshell for now, would be looking forward to seeing you around again,

    I would just like to say that there is a fine difference between not having money to spend on the game and choosing to not spend the money you have on it. There are plenty of people who could easily spend lots of $$ on PWI but choose not to for obvious reasons.

    HT, the first time I saw u it was on the cube, u were the first person I saw with tt90, I was like 5X. Nice seeing such an old name on the forums, specially thinking to come back, that would pop the interest lvl on the game quite a bit.

    I remember HT was one of the 1st people to +12 a weapon on are server, the famous +12 Calloused Lionheart Hatchets lol.

    Hi nate, been a long time since I have seen you around, anyway game is still moderately interesting pvp is slowly picking up with more rank8 and 9 players every day, if you decide to come back send me a PM and ill help you out with gearing your bm for the new style of pvp as it hits alot harder than it did back when you quit.
