What kind of heavy are you talking about? Humanoid melee with heavy armour and melee weapoons only?
I'm an Arcane/heavy armour build. I wear robes and heavy armour for my level and a magic sword for my level too, and it's not hard to level at all.

It doesn't help because you don't know the first thing about HA venomancers.

HA veno is a totally legit build that makes money just fine. Don't know where the suggestion comes from that it is any less of a build. I have found that during lower lvl I played mostly in foxform and could grind indefinitely (never stopping to rest or recoup HP/MP). Normal play style is little changed from arcane build - send pet, attack mob, heal pet, etc. With HA I care less when a melee mob hits me, but more when a magic mob does. Naturally, the reduced Mag stat lowers magic attack value and reduces hit. This has proven to be a blessing in disguise in most cases. I do not steal agro from my pets (herc and nix) though I have heard that a strong arcane veno will often do so. My hit is still sufficient both in normal veno magic attacks and in foxform physical attack. I do not use axes as I have seen a few HA venos try. I stick with mag wep about 10 lvl below me (refined and gemed to enhance considerably) The reduced mag attack does, however, gimp my pet heal a bit. I figure it is about 10-15% lower than a pure magic build. The cost of armor/wep is considerably higher than arcane venos as I require many pieces to have added stat attributes. Without this I could not use my lvl armor and wep. There is one big advantage to HA build that isn't often mentioned - we can wear arcane as well. When facing a magic attacking mob (or a cleric, archer, or wizard) I can switch some or all of my armor. There is an excellent guide in this forum about how to build and use your HA veno. It is def worth the read.

Oh but the main advantage of the HA veno that I luv... it looks so damn cool.

I much prefer a full mag robes Veno to say HA as I started out as HA.HA is good in say pvp but it really needed in pve.
Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

As Reikara asked, what type of Heavy Veno do you speak of.

    There is:

    Heavy/Robe
    Heavy+Melee weapons
    Heavy/Foxform
    etc...

I can give you the heavy with melee weapons. From 1 to 79 err... close to 80 now.

Ok, here is the VenoX build then...

    Pure HA Melee Veno

    Weapoon: Dual Axes
Magic Weapon: Meh :/ (If ya want foxform)

I had this build without resetting it. That's right, I started from lv1- now 79 as this build. (Close to 80)

    Pros:
    -More physical resistance and damage
    -More physical attack
    -High health
-If pet dies then you have a way to help yourself not to get killed
-Pet and veno take turns tanking (If you want to make money enough to cover repair costs without adding to the damage)
-Soul tranfusion can be used as an extra life bar (since you hardly use magic this is a great skill to use)
-Possibility of tanking bosses (Depends on heallth&def)
-For mobs you can take aggro without worrying about dying too much instead of commanding your pet to attack every monster that comes your way.
-Healing pet is a whatever (if and only if you upgrade that skill you'll do fine I'll say)/ This goes for all skills unless it is a magic attack skill.
-Foxform can be used to debuff (If ya want)
-You can go 20 lvs (Possibly higher) without changing your gear. (Just learned it lol. I am picky so I stayed with my lv60 armor because the lv70 armor looked like **** on my precious veno XD. Ok it didn't look totally like **** but the stats were ****. :/ Just sold them. Meh. But I will be getting lv80 armor.)

    Cons:

Yes there has to be some.

-Lower magic attack than arcane venos (Can't be solved with magic shards getting put into your armor but you can get close sortof/possibly...)
-Lower magic defense than arcane venos (Can be solved with magic shards getting put into your armor. So you lose some health you got tons of it, you'll live!)

I haven't hit anymore cons along my way. Just don't get cocky with bosses. Some bosses you actually need a barb/team for (Like Horse guy in TT 2. That fudger wore and tore my axesb:angry)

    In this build...

    Vit is important.

Str is a must! This must be your highest!

Magic is Meh. I left it at 60 :/ (Pet heals are fine for me. So what about spamming the button, you could just stow it and kill the monster yourself. Spamming is optional.)

Dex is enough to wield your axes or more if you want nice crits^^

Possibly a high magic def pet could tank magic things. It would be a good pet to use but it doesn't have to be. With your health you can kill it. And you don't have to worry about those magic resistance monsters.b:laughb:pleased

Tip: For bosses (physical bosses are your friends). If you have a pet with pierce (This skill lowers pdef of an enemy) then you can use that to your advantage and hit more on the boss like a regular mob (depending on the skill level). Bramble hood is also your best friend. Since pdef is high then it is like you are immune to the other 25% of a hit (since bramble hood decreases only 75% pdef and you have what like 65-70% pdef already + high health) and can also attack right back with spark eruption (Your other best friend).

    So I LUV this build.
b:cute Wouldn't trade it for the world. (Wait... >.> Now if it's the real world I might reconsider. Muahaaa lol.)

Side Note: And for those who say roll a freakin bm/barb or reset to an arcane/light and use magic like everyone else...

You know what you remind me of? (Don't worry it's clean. I promise :P)

Well then here's everything I know for heavy/robe build.

Heavy/Arcane armour is designed for PvP, you give up a little magic attack for insane
physical defense that sends barbarians blademasters green with envy and physical attack.

Generally you only restat at higher levels, most restat to it at 90, I restatted at 80 though. This is simply because around these levels you have more base stats to work this build. You actually don't have enough stats for heavy armour and magic for magic weapons so you need extra stat boints as bonuses from your ornaments and helmet.

The aim for this build is to use the heavy/arcane armour and magic weapon for your level, which is acheivable. You must leave your vit at 3 once you restat however.
Your HP can be made up for with HP shards, HP helmet and armour refines, at later levels you can begin to add vit once again, when you think you can afford it.

This build is designed for both fox form and human mage form, giving this build the most versatility with it's highest physical and magical defense out of all the venomancer builds. Your magic attack maybe lesser than a full arcane veno's and your physical attack may only be 1-2k, but you only need your physical attack to hurt arcane wearers, and you simply need your magical attack only to hurt those in heavy armour, who have the least resistances against your attacks~

I can't really be bothered to explain how to build this since I have a loooong guide stickied at the top of the forum ^ .___.
So go read it if you want to know ;o

This build is really fantastic as it really relies on skill in PvP~Not an Over Powered pet ;P
I've been arcane armour, light armour and this build so far~ I have never once regretted
this build nor ever reconsidered it. This is by the far the best TW build *__*
-Kinda tired, i'll add more info to this later

Please note that Veno can only hold magical weapon while in foxform and you cannot switch eq while in fox form... The post is a 2009 post which meant it does not applies now...

Go read up on the stickied post on HA/Arcane Veno for more info...

not true, I have a lvl 100 veno, use magic weapon at my level. And yeah I make enough money to have this build. I may not have as much magic attack as a full AA veno but I make up for it with pdef and physical attack. I am not an easy one shot and grinding with my herc and nix get the job done much faster. I am getting rank 8 and not worried about the points to wear the gears. as a veno I can only get magic so its all good.
