Flawless Aquamarine Shard + weapon

Hi all,

was wondering if thers any effect of putting a Flawless Aquamarine Shard into a weapon (eg: a TT bow) ?

Does it give additional damage? Coz archers dont have elemental damage except for Blazing arrow?

Can someone pls explain.

    It does add damage, but the added damage doesn't get multiplied by your dexterity modifier, so it's almost always better to shard a garnet instead. There's really no point in adding such a tiny amount of elemental damage.

    That is not strictly true: in the past you could sometimes get high grade elemental shards dirt cheap (I have been able to get perfect elemental shards for 10k), and if you were leaving your weapon unsocketed because of expenses, you might shard an elemental shard instead. And they also have some attractions if you have low dexterity and rarely spark with your bow (because dexterity plus spark supply your damage multipliers for garnets).

    But with how things are now (and I suspect the biggest part of this might not be obvious to people quite yet), I would highly advise you save your elemental shards. You should make an alt to hold them if you do not have safe space.

    I would like to add, I add Garnets for fists, the damage bonus is nice to have. But I'd rather use elemental shards for slow weapons (e.g. bows) as the difference in damage with garnets is not that big (as you don't spark with em). Also you deal even more elemental damage and hurt the HA users even more =).

    My initial reaction to this was: No No No No No No No

    After reading all of the points made by other users that I had not considered, my reaction has now become: No No No No No No No.

    Not unless you can't afford garnets, as stated by Fleuri. But to be honest, I would rather leave mine unsharded. :|
