how do i use aerogear?

gonna sound mad stupid but how do u use aerogear? i put in my inventory clicked on it and nothing happened it's real simple but this is the first mmorpg ive ever played so im a complete newb. All i need to know is how to get in the air thats it really.

    Equip the aerogear and then click Fly in the "Actions" menu (click "E").

    I also like to put the command (found by pressing e like arocus said) on a quick slot. That way you can just click a button on your keyboard instead of having to go into the menu everytime you want to start or stop flying.
