Should I be a Cleric?

So I have a 20 sin, and I keep dying. Then I hear about clerics, and they sound good. Is it worth to play, because I looked at skill tree and they only have about 5-7 attack skills. I also heard that they were horrible at pvp.

they dont really need a lot of attack skills when they crit one-plume-shot ub:avoid

eventually, it boils down to gears and skill in the class.
i think that sins have an advantage in 1v1 pvp even if they are slightly undergeared or not-so good in playing their class.

if you really care about pvp, roll in a pvp server o:

If your biggest concern is attack skills and PVP, it would be best not to be a cleric b:chuckle

    Clerics are a support class.
Their job is to heal others, purify them, and res them.
So their limited attack spells is understandable. Sure they DD from time to time, but again, that isn't their main task at hand. If you prefer to solo, then don't do cleric. If you like working in a team then consider it. I started as a BM and am now going cleric.

PvP wise... think about it this way.. You can IH spam yourself (heal that stacks) then attack whereas most other classes only have 1 heal and like for BM's it takes a spark to do so. Whereas clerics heal is more powerful and their magic can be pretty crazy. I know as a pure cleric soloing - I can kill anything my lvl in 3-4 hits with no IH stack and not using plume shell(until after mob is dead, then I heal myself) Don't think that clerics aren't strong.

Though, if your overly concerned about attacks and pvp then maybe not the right class. Cleric rarely attacks / attacks on the side. You NEVER let a mate die because you were attacking.

5-7 attack skills... Well, I have 2 maxed on my Cleric and I almost never use them. :P Cleric is a healer / supporter class. If you want to be a damage dealer, make some Life Powders and stick with your Sin... Or make an Archer, they are more fun.

    .

This is very untrue as a lot have made up attack clerics but they can serve a duel purpose and to the OP if you have to ask this question the answer is NO.

it's normal that a low lvl sin struggles in PVE especially if you go for a pure dex build so choosing cleric just because of a easier PvE would be wrong. I rather would suggest to get a BM Psy or Veno then because all of them do pretty nice in PVE. Clerics can be strong in PvP too but most of the time they are needed for their Buffs and Healing while the Magic attacking in a group pvp is a psychic or wizard job. Nevertheless clerics are amazing to play

Yeah Clerics are meant as a support class for healing and buffs and all that, but I know quite a few clerics who can oneshot or at least seriously damage some high lvl players.

It all depends on what youd rather do I think. If your more for close range combat and quick hits then a Sin is better for that. If your more for being able to keep someone alive as they tank or DD then cleric is the better choice.

In the end it all depends on what you'd rather do. While clerics can PvP most just go for PvE with that class. Sins are mainly thought to be great for PvP cause of their speed.[My thoughts so dont quote me on it] I have a lvl 73 cleric and Im happy with just being able to keep others alive and rezzing them when they ask.

Clerics are not very good at PvP until high levels. In their support role, clerics also get a lot of complaints from squad mates during instances. Clerics also is very expensive to play. Playing clerics you'll need to watch out for a lot more in a situation than a tank or DD would, because they focus on that mob they're killing, while you focus on all of their health bars, as well as your own butt (heal aggro, walkers). So if you like PvP and being in the action, cleric class is not the most exciting in those cases... not until much later.

Incidentally, I always thought sins are good in PvP, because they stealth up to me and STAB, dead cleric stain on the Gravel Pile.

My how times have changed. I remember, before genies, when sleep was the most OP thing ever...

    Sins are made for PvP, it's just the way the class was designed. That's not to say they cannot do PvE activities. Likewise Clerics are made for Support, but that's no reason NOT to PvP with them. I loved PvP, it was the only thing keeping me interested in playing after 95... >.>;;

Well no arguments about the idea that clerics aren't the strongest pvp class out there. They can pvp, just don't expect to dominate :P

Just wanted to note on the PvE side, it was mentioned if you want to solo not to choose a cleric b:question I find that to be completly false. I've easily been able to solo all my quest mobs with a "fairly cheap" cleric build, and even some of the weaker bosses. Clerics can be a lot of fun, but you have to get a feel for how to use them, instead of randomnly mashing buttons :)

    my gear is http://pwcalc.ru/pwi/?char=82ac11801b81889f

I can dd better than most "DD's" in my sqaud.

    highest crit was 64 k
Killing level 80's with a lvl 60 is a lot more fun than killing level 90's with a level 100.

OP, you have two options. First, you can reroll a cleric, get it to 100, realize it's useless, and reroll again to your sin; or, stick with the sin and forget all about clerics.
