Sage Pyrogram + Genie Spark Skill

I was wondering if Sage Divine Pyrogram's debuff would stack with a 100 dex Spark from genie, or is the max reduction possible 100%?

(EDIT: meant divine pyro in title x_x)

i havent really test this compo but if they have the same debuff icon i'm pretty sure that the one overwrites the other.
it doesnt have to do with 100% or 1% reduction

D.pyro debuff and genie spark do stack.. although d.pyro debuff does not stack with undine. You generally undine then genie spark (possibly sutra combo right after

). Just keep in mind that even though it says 100%, you will never actually reduce their mdef to 0 for some reason (perhaps with more than 120 dex?).. although if they are unbuffed 3 digit mdef is definitely possible (and a pretty common occurrence at that).

To be perfectly honest I've always been curious why I couldn't get the reduction down to 0 with -60% on undine and another 81.8% with genie spark(74 dex genie.. genie gear woulda made it 90 dex). Although it doesn't go down to 0, it is still an amazing combo.. especially on arcane classes that rely on their defenses as opposed to hp to survive.

Random question Adroit.
If you didn't use Spark, would you use DP at all?

I had the opportunity to get Sage DP book for free from a friend, but I declined since I have hardly used DP since my late 70s. The Channelling compared to the damage doesn't seem worth it, compared to SS which hits harder and GS which is longer chan, but slows.

I guess if I was to do a Sage DP + BT combo in Sutra I'd get it.

Thoughts?

my genie has 90 dex and the lowest i could debuff (a barb, sin , archer ) was around 600 fire def, so i assumed that would be the lowest it would go. Undine + spark _ DP is very deadly to any1 even a mage class ^^.

I use DP ( demon ) for my 5 skills sultra combo to go along with debuff combo ^^ this helps me easily take out a BM with +12 gears b:chuckle

I mostly use it in a sutra combo (generally combined with genie spark), because I don't need to worry about the long channel time but the cast time/cooldown are short.. and it does decent damage. My sutra combo usually consists of undine -> FoW or Fortify.. depends on the situation -> genie spark -> d.pyro -> pyro -> wotp -> d.pyro -> pyro. Other than that.. I've used it after a triple spark -> sleep -> d.pyro -> spark just as its about to land for a good chance at a bypass (most often vs a veno when I just tripled to get rid of the nix bleed).

I dunno, its not my most used skill.. but just for the uses in sutra and being that it is one of our strongest spammable fire skills.. I'd look at getting it if it isn't too much. The fire debuff is so small its hardly worth mentioning, and I was worried about it blocking my undine buff.. but I can't think of a time that it has ever been a problem. I mean the only times I'm able to use d.pyro anyway are in sutra (once a minute at best.. debuff lasts 20 seconds if the target wasn't undined already) or after a sleep.. and I only really use d.pyro if I've just triple sparked and don't have chi for an ulti.. so d.pyro + spark is the best bet.

Don't get it for the debuff (useless) if anything get it for just the stronger lvl 11 version (higher base damage.. longer range etc)

I think I'll give it a miss tbh. I still need to get GS again (had it, never learnt it) and SS and Distance Shrink.

More important. Though I guess I do need to learn to use Sutra more often in PvP.

omgz! You need shrink ASAP! Sandstorm and GS are kinda meh.. one or the other would be good for the n00bs where you get them to half with a gush.. then just need that little extra to bypass with the next skill. Whats your genie look like btw?

I got sage divine Pyro and personally i like it for PVE because

i hardly use undine in pve unless the mob has magical resistance and so the 20% debuff
is a nice little dmg boost even it wont make a huge difference in PvP even with my crappy weapon its somewhere between 1-2k more dmg on the mob. Moreover the debuff works also if you use will of the phoenix or crown of the flame or normal pyrogram during the debuff duration so when grinding metal mobs it quite boosts the killspeed normally i use there

divine pyro -->gush-->pyro-->will of the phoenix-->gush/crown of the flame

for pvp i hardly do PK and in TW i prefer to use ultis instead of sutra but i think especially when you dont have the time to use undine the debuff should pay off

Yeah, I've seen your vids and shrink seems to help a LOT with keeping chi for sleep and bids.

I have two genies.
I don't PK a whole lot these days, Im not gear'd well enough at the moment. Trying to save for better gear.

Yea, i figured my ideal genie would have to be 102 just for the affinities, qq. Fortify CE domain spark -- i just hate having to choose and switch genies, etc.

I use my Cloud genie most of the time, chi

I like the other one, cauterize saves me a bit, but I'd prefer to have Frenzy instead of EP and CE instead of caut. And to be honest, I don't pvp enough these days to really know how well the genie works. Obvious reasons.
