Hi guys!

First, I'd like to congratulate the Top 10 that made it through the preliminary rounds!

*applause*

Now, it's time for your first challenge to begin~! I'll start off easy!

And this week's challenge is themed: Daybreak

The beginning of a new contest calls for the beginning of a new day!

The requirements for this challenge is simple;
take a screenshot during one of the most beautiful times of day, Sunrise!

As for rules; fashion is allowed, skills are allowed and poses are allowed. You can screenshot anywhere you wish as long as it is during sunrise. A no no will be photoshoping or editing of your submissions.

Please mail your screenshots (one screenshot only per person!) to this account and we'll be looking forward to judging them!

As before, the judging panel will consist of Susylu, our forum fashionista, Fierce Critic Dorset, and the wonderful Crystalynnex! :)

You have until Thursday, 3rd February to mail your submissions, so hit us with your best shot! Good luck to all and please feel free to ask any questions!

Remember people. Try and think outside the box Be creative in your contest entries and most of all....HAVE FUN!!

    Are pets allowed during this too? Or second persons?

    Also you say no editing. Does that include cropping shots?

    Pets and second people are allowed, but remember, YOU have to stand out. After all, the screenshots are about you, and for this challenge, you and the sunrise~

    Yes, PM your submissions to this account with a link to the image.

    If you're concerned about size, the forums auto resize the screenies, so to crop for size purposes, I'd say there's no need. For other reasons, I will have to discuss with the rest of the judges and we'll get back to you on that! :)

    Just figured my size question is pretty useless, cause everyone got another monitor size and resolution anyway lol
    Add different zooms to the table and noone will be able to tell if you really shot just this scenery or had a little more in the picture.


    Now to find out when sunrises are during my playtime and find a nice idea *runs off into thinking chamber

    I see 3...may be 4 preset chars there with minor edits to them, so much for *no presets* in this thing, please take your attention to here, that is all.

    Hmmm in my opinion this topic offers some great opportunities to show off anything but your face lol
    So Id say, as long as it stays recognizable, why not a crazy angle. And seriously, youd have to shoot pretty much straight front if you want to capture face and sunset.. yuck.

    Only problem I got is my damn sage fairy lol Always in my way b:laugh
    I even got a very very funny shot out of that problem lol Should probably show some bloopers off a soon as entries are closed :p

    b:chuckle I know the problem. My Demon Fairy gets in the way all the time as well.

    Edit: I have a question I must ask, and which just raised in my mind.

    Do I have 2 stand on the ground for this challenge? Because I found a wonderful spot 2 make my screenshot but I have 2 be flying for it 2 work. If I don't... well it woudn't look as good as it does now.

    This is pretty much a spot on angle. no you dont HAVE to show off your face...but try keep it at least recognisable as your char

    The reason the submissions arent being shown yet is because we want everyone to be able to come up with their own material and not be influenced by other peoples entries. all entries will be shown after the judging never fear xd plus some feedback bout why we chose who we chose

    The people we chose we chose for a variety of reasons and i do not think they look very preset liek in my opinion theres a good variety of chars in this contest each with their own look.

    All contestants should receive a pm back once they enter their screenshots saying we received them within 24 hours. If you do not receive a message reply, it probably means it wasn't sent correctly - please double check with us by posting on the thread or resubmitting your entry.

    This exactly. I did make that other thread and the similarities for some of the entries to the presets are there I admit, but there were several reasons why the finalists became finalists, even though that very issue was discussed by the three of us during the judging stages.

    I hope you still enjoy watching the contest though Renza. I know, although it won't be perfect, all three of us will try and make it as fun as possible for everyone.

    I linked that thread for sheer irony, i know that she made it and i know that shes judging lol, the amount of char customizations ive done in the 4-5 years ive been playing PW in general, its kinda hard to not see a pre-set with minor altering and its annoying to see them being in any *winning category*, i could prob SS a few of those pre-sets now just for the sake of it, either way your the judges , carry on =/

    Oh Shoo Renza

    we chose the best of the entries we received. Anyone who knows me OR Su would know that Preset looking chars of one of our Pet Hates. However as PREVIOUSLY stated they all did make more than just colour changes , all we think will be promising to bring some colour and creativity to the contest and im looking forward to seeing what all of them can do.

    Sometimes i wish people would lay off the complaining when it takes quite a lot of effort to do a contest in the first place.

    ...Being able to make them look similar doesn't mean anything... I can make almost any character look similar if given the reference pic.

    Please don't get me wrong. Like we said, we already knew there were entries that looked more "customized" than others. Also like you mentioned, as judges, we picked the contestants because we believed they were the ones who should continue on with the challenges for more than one reason for the sake of contest entertainment.

    There's no need to continuously troll our contest and our contestants; it was very unnecessary of you to post the screenshots I request and would appreciate it if you would remove them. Thanks.

    Also. Im a bit lost here, what is defined as sunset? Just the time from the sun appearing til its fully up? And does the sun itself have to show in the picture?

    XD Hahhaha, yeah, I ended up with a few extra funny ones, too! When going through my spam of screenshots (had to take a lot before sunrise went away...T_T), I ended up with a bunch of wtf moments. xD

    Also, @ your last post, IMO, sunrise and sunset both kind of look the same to me ingame...XD but anyway, you know that little section near the mini map where the mail icon usually pops up when you have mail? Well, there's a little icon near it showing like the sun, the moon, or inbetween and if you mouse over it, it'll tell you if it's sunrise, evening, morning, night, midnight or something. I don't know all the exact terms. So I'm sure they're looking for screenies in the sunrise time. But gotta be quick...'cause it'll go away fast. D:

    Srry but I somehow don't like the way this sin is looking at me! No seriously, there is some faceresemblence 2 my char. (Even so I doubt the Body masses overall would fit since I changed them quite a bit.)

    But here are some things I see on 1st glance are different 2 my sin xD

    1st the Eyes. OMG I feel like it wants 2 eat me.

    2nd. The face. My chars face is a little more slim.

    And besides, even so I edited a preset when I created my char (which we all do btw xD) I atleast have an ingame sister b:pleased

    We're all human and we're all flawed. A decision one party makes may not sit well with another party, that's perfectly understandable.

    If you have a problem with the judges' decisions for the Top 10 finalists, then yes, you do have a problem with how the contest is run. So I strongly advise you to stop keeping up with this contest so our decisions don't further cause you annoyance.

    That said, please keep all negative comments and complaints away from this thread. If it really bothers you, PM me personally at my personal account - crystalynnex

    And this goes out to everyone, not just Renza.

    To the finalists;

    Another reminder, once you've mailed a screenshot to us, you can't take it back or say, "oh, please take this shot instead of my last one, this one's nicer" or something along those lines. So you first submission will be the one that will be judged. Choose carefully.

    As for whether the sun has to be in the shot. The sun doesn't have to be prominent in the picture, but we need to be able to tell that the shot was taken during sunrise and not in the morning. As far as definition of sunrise goes, (in my words) the sun is just appearing, so it's still relatively low in the sky.

    @Temera, when you make a custom, on this game anyway, the whole point is to edit the face, anyone can bump the sliders on there body and call it there own, thats just an easy preference, the face business though thats a totally different thing all together as it can be totally morphed, yanami is a good example of just what can be achieved if you try, all im getting at is, if you see an high number of people that all look the same then its clearly a preset that has had very minor edits (like you having a twin sister =/), btw i did that *preset* from looking at a tiny picture so it was bound to not be 100% accurate and i wasn't bothering to edit the body lol
