Ok so I load up PWI fine I can play as usual, no obvious glitches other than the rubber banding :P

However. I went to use one of my moves. (Metabolic boost for veno) and noticed it was not working.

So I'm like... ok, weird.. using my attacks, half of the effects seem to work..Half do not appear

Well anyway. I restarted PWI afterwards. And tried metabolic boost again. Same thing.

So i've checked the logs and i've gotten lots of glitches like the following;

[18:24:51.314] A3DTerrainWater::SetWaterType, failed to load water_alpha_simple.txt

Here is the log files; http://www.mediafire.com/file/lznx0li7j44bnnh/Logs.zip

I've tried importing the same clean versions of the files from my laptop, and replacing the ones that are not working, however that has not worked.

    plus also check your graphic cards and see if they are up to date.

    Hmm.. Well I've looked more.

    I can confirm that my error is not down to graphics card software.

    I just now tried booting the version of PWI on my laptop, and after it updated itself, BAM the effects are not appearing on that either..

    So now both the version of PWI on my PC and the version of PWI on my laptop are both failing to load the same textures.. The laptop and the PC have both worked before, and run completely different graphics (a netbook intel graphics chipset, and a geforce in the pc)

    I checked the logs on the netbook; Here's the jist

    [20:07:32.815] Skin model render method: Indexed Vertex Blend Matrix.
    [20:07:32.815] A3DGFXMan::Init() Can not open gfxlist.txt
    [20:07:32.830] A3DVertexShader::Load, Cannot open file C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\Shaders\vs\stereo_vs.txt!
    [20:07:45.794] A3DPixelShader::Load, Cannot open file C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\Shaders\ps\t2_tex_merger.txt!
    [20:07:45.794] A3DPixelShader::Load, Cannot open file C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\Shaders\ps\t2_tm_lm.txt!
    [20:07:45.810] Terrain2 mask texture format is 28 (ps supported)
    [20:07:45.810] Terrain2 lightmap texture format is 23
    [20:07:48.961] A3DSurfaceMan::LoadSurfaceFromFile(), Can not locate [kr.dds] in package!
    [20:07:48.961] A2DSpriteTextures::Init() LoadSurfaceFromFile Fail!
    [20:07:48.961] A2DSpriteTexMan::Load2DSpriteTexturesFromFile(), Create new A2DSpriteTextures fail!
    [20:07:48.961] A2DSprite::Init(), failed to load sprite's textures!

    So this is clearly not a hardware issue, but a software issue.. Anyone got any clues?

    Read this quote from our Tech expert GM this might help

    Here are some things that might help you...

    Add the game folder and/or game file to the exceptions list in your firewall or antivirus software.

    Example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

    You also might need to temporarily disable your antivirus, MS Security Essentials or Windows Firewall long enough to download, install, patch and login to get into the game, and then turn it back on. Sometimes disabling may not help and you will need to add an exception for the game folder.

    It might be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin (such as running the game as Administrator), UAC, network, or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking or throttling the game.

    You can also try changing your proxy settings for Internet Explorer 8, to have them turned off here: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > and then untick all of the proxy settings.

    If you still need additional help, please Search our Knowledge Base for the terms mentioned above. Let us know what you tried and what errors you got when you reply to us.

    Thanks!

    Hi.

    I can confirm to you that this is not a permissions issue. To prove this I gave full permissions to every file in the PWI folder to everyone, and ran the program as administrator. The same problems still occur.

    Furthermore. It is not windows firewall because I have turned it off and made a habit of checking it is off since I brought this machine. I also removed windows-defender from the machine. Windows update has been set to not check for updates.

    The only security software there is on my machine is Avast antivirus. I've checked it's logs and it has not blocked anything. I even disabled it to play PWI.

    No software has "changed" on my machine. Even Avast has update checking turned off. It's my loss if damadge happens to my computer.

    Legit questions as they are to ask, they do not apply to me. Is there something in the PWI code that has changed recently to break it in such a way? :/

    E: Could it be a rendering issue? Is there a way of changing the renderer such as in other programs that use things such as OpenGL and directX?
