Please let us unequip charms!

I am sure this has been brought up countless times, but I wanted to start a fresh thread and get this idea kicked around a bit more. I love my plat hp charm in TW, in PVP, but in FC or for dueling, not so much. Please allow us to take them off when we don't need them or want them on. I am thinking this would be a simple fix and one that would allow us to duel until our hearts were content. Anyway, thanks for listening b:cute and see you in game!

Agreed! Many times agreed! b:pleased0

PWI wouldn't be able to scam us of more money then they needed, hence the inability to simply de-equip something as simple as a charm, you see, the devs are crafty buggers (not really), they just simply like milking us like cash cows, otherwise something as obvious as this would have been dealt with already.
Irony is though, there's the small chance they could make more money, i no i would of bought some and bothered to do TW if i could take it off after, either way, i have high doubts this will ever happen, regardless of the bananas we hand to the devs.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I totally agree, that would be so nice!!!0
-
I agree it would be nice though I don't think it will happen. Making them unequipable means that they'll run out faster, making people buy more charms in a less amount of time.0
-
Why does anyone even think this is a good idea?0
-
I do agree it would be nice to un-equip them.
I lkike my charm when I go bh or such, cause it's there in case cleric gets distracted.
But when I farm alone and mis-calculate hp and use ToP and see it ticking I go b:angryProud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle0 -
I would love to be able to unequip my charm for BH or Nirvana and then reequip it for a solo TT run.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Great idea, especially when you basically only need chars in instances, when you grind and it gets depleted it`s a waste. Like somebody already mentioned it`s another way to scam people out of their money, I`m sure if we could eq/uneq charms people would buy them way less.[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=14516063001&dateline=1364756666[/SIGPIC] Ty Silvy0

I can name a few good reasons:
My MP charm ticks EVERY time I come out of Fox Form(Completely unavoidable)
My MP charm ticks EVERY time I cast Pet Revive.
Pots don't heal fast enough to really be effective on their own(Even with a Flourish Orb in effect, my charm still end up ticking sometimes when I'm casting spells almost constantly)
I decided to let the mobs of FB 39 kill me when I had to die for the culti, and my HP charm ticked once before they killed me. Situations like this are also unavoidable.
I think MP charms are the worst as far as ticking when you don't want them to. A lot of the HP/MP of a charm could be saved if they could be unequipped when only a potion/food/apoth is needed.
But, as said before, PWI management only cares about making as much money as possible, so this will never even be considered while the current management is in power.0 -
It wouldn't work.
The TW people are so insistent on "requiring charms" that they will buy them even as they are. Basically that means that being able to unequip charms would mean that people would save a lot of "charm" and that would cause a loss in the sales of charms.
And besides, a lot of the TW people already get free silver charms from the Celestial Tiger Event, so it's not like they care.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.
If you see b:cute be sure to take a second, calm look at anything I said.0 -
The devs made charms bound for a reason, which Renza pointed out. Besides, this has been suggested numerous times already. If they haven't made it unequippable by now, they never will.Somewhat retired from PWI, now playing Hellgate Global full time0

how about juist deactivating charms during duels that way if start a duel you still have your charm on but it wont tick untill the duel is over0
-
Charms don't tick until the duel is over.
tbh, they actually might make just as much money if charms where un-equipable. Myself, and many I know DON'T get charms cause they tick too much and are unequipable. Sure charm life would extend, but more people would probably buy them to start with.0 -
Even if they dont allow us to un-equip charms, it'd be nice if the amount of HP/MP loss needed to make it "tick" was adjustable. For example...Barbs could probably set an HP Charm at 50% health activation so they (and clerics) could have more leeway to prevent a tick. The same could be said about casters and MP charms.
Oh wait, that could lead to less charm abuse/replacements which means loss of $$$ for them...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Remember: OP may be a duck|OP/GMs/Devs may not deliver|Search function is your friend|Lurk more|Be wary of Mods: they can't be trusted|This place isn't a hugbox|Your tears sustain me|Know what Bait is|"Soon" may never come|Postcount, Dubs, and other GETs are important|Don't revive long dead threads|There is a section for everything|You can be banned for anything|No Fun Allowed outside of OT|Sweetiebot rules OT|"Circlejerks" are inevitable|Threads can be derailed and saved|Those who use"XD" should off themselves at their earliest convenience|0 -

Actually, that's nto a bad idea. Allowing one to set when a charm ticks would be a nice option, even if you could only set it when equipping. I would definitely set my MP charm to tick at 15% mp remaining in that case, while my HP charm I'd set for 60%, so that I'm less likely to be one-shotted right as the charm is suppose to tick.0 -
That would be nice.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Use a regular pot.... or wait for your mp to go down a bit more then nature's grace or Transfusion and Metabolic.
My MP charm ticks EVERY time I cast Pet Revive.
Your pets are dying that much that THAT'S a problem?
Pots don't heal fast enough to really be effective on their own(Even with a Flourish Orb in effect, my charm still end up ticking sometimes when I'm casting spells almost constantly)
Again, your skills?
I decided to let the mobs of FB 39 kill me when I had to die for the culti, and my HP charm ticked once before they killed me. Situations like this are also unavoidable.
Well that only needs to be done once.... sucks u had a charm on then.

Erm you're on a PvE server so obviously not needing charms for fighting other people. You're a veno and you need to use charms and pots??? b:avoid I use Flourish orbs on my Sin or archer grinding.... that's about it. I've NEVER used a charm on any toon, especially veno.... don't need it.
The only time i've ever thought about pulling out my Plat HP charm from the Tideborn chain was for solo'ing TT's while fighting Drummer in squad mode.. and still haven't used it lol
EDIT (days later): just dawned on me even on a PvE server people like having charms for PK'ing and TW.... just didn't really relate to this since Bell is only 52..... and i didnt' even think about that till now cause i don't care about pk'ing... OR TW....0
