What are wizzies doing now?

So I've recently started playing again after about a 4 month or so break. It doesn't seem like much has changed except for the dq points and all this constant talk about 5aps which 4 months ago nobody ever talked about.

Anyway my question is what are wizzies commonly doing now especially at my level (82)? Before I left I was doing a bit of zhen, BHs, and TT runs in groups and soloing I was usually grinding for dq drops in OHT or on Night Scream. Sometimes I would join a rebirth but most people don't seem to know what they are doing. I know FF is coming up but most groups want 85 or 90+ and now that I've come back it seems every group is asking for aps characters.

What do you guys like to do or find useful around this level for wizzies?

    Well you can always grind of course, flying mobs above Valley of the scarred, phoenixes in Burning Heart or fish in the water east of 1k/Sea of isolation are all great for DQ's and exp.

    Though you may find all of your friends in FCC. Or other people in FCC. Really, between 80 and 90, even 100, you will only hear. FCC. LF FCC. FCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC till it drives you crazy.

    Okay maybe some TT squads, and if you have friends/good faction you will get in, however I almost never see random TT squads rise from world chat.

    BH obviously still continues, its a source of exp, and they will take you as a wizard, bh69 and 79 easy as hell anyway, though you will (atleast I did) get sick of these instances.

    I think PVE wise, PRE-90, wizards arent that bad, its just, no one does anything else but FCC.

    I'd say continue with your BH mainly, Since from personal experience, most FF's around level 80 are complete failures. No, I don't know what it's like 85/90+, but I have heard it gets quite a bit easier and quicker, and also, more people will have FF experience.

    Personally, I've been trying to get as many TT's as I can recently, since Skills and Gear is starting to cost a bomb. (720k Coin for Blade Tempest, level 9! That lowered my coin by a bit lol..)

    Grinding is an alternative, but unless you can AoE grind well, I've found it to be...not so good for Coin or EXP, mediocre in both fields.

    For TT's your level, I suggest TT1-2 or TT2-1, as they are both pretty quick and provide decent drops for the time taken.

    Thanks for the quick replies. I know what you mean about coin. Luckily before I left I spent a good bit on some good gear that should hold me till about TT90 or 95 stuff so right now I'm just saving coin. I'll look into some FF runs. Several people in my guild go a lot but they are in upper 90's and 100's so I can't really contribute to that. TT's sound like a good idea to work on those 90 mats.

    I like doing BH's but agree they get boring after a while. I try to mix it up by tanking pyro when I can but for some reason barbs think you can't tank it then get mad when they can't keep aggro.

    Rerolling a sin, cleric, or bm. I'd say 90% of the wizards I know are doing that.

    I knew someone was going to come along and say that. I've had this wizard since open beta and will always play it. I've tried most of the other classes and to be honest the wiz is the most fun to play. Since I play for fun and not the uber pwnage or whatever the kids are saying these days, I'll stick with the wiz.

    most FCs are 85+ and also, they are better...
    do some FC to gain experience but dont focus to them till 85+
    also, use 12x hypers, the other options arent that good

    80-90?

    completing all quests

    rebirth gamma ? geh, doubt anyone does that? :P has the gear/exp

    and farming TT almost all the time for the tt90 set
    thats so many mats >.>

    its not even that... i LOVE wiz.. but if i cant get into any higher lvl runs for gears b/c of every party is looking for aps.. y stay wiz? plus with 2 new classes coming, (HA mage) seeker, who can prolly get high aps too QQ and a (veno/psy) mystic, there debuffs help WAY more then mage dps (plus they can dps, so u get a 2 for 1 deal lol)

    so yea.. unless u have awesome friends who dont mind giving up fast aps and awesome debuffs to bring u along... its gonna suck to b a wiz (or veno for that matter) at higher lvls T_T (of course this is after new classes come out and if ur not already there getting ur gears)

    yeah, lol, now at least you have the hyper choice.
    Back in the days the "pros" were spending 10hr/day at fish with esoterica up between 85 and 90.

    Worst interval ever to lvl without frost. Not good enough for solo aoe, not good enough to enter and survive Delta, cube xp is **** , so on and so forth.
    Lvling now is a joke, lol.

    On topic...hmmm...dailies, BH, stacking on orbs to raise a seeker in a few clicks, lol.
    There's enough to do with a 5 aps BM and a 100 wiz ingame, if only I had all the time I want...lol.
