Hi there, I'm having some issues with pwi.

When I load the client, sometimes it wont connect, and then when I finally DO get it to connect, as I log in, once I select a character, pwi closes completly, no warnings, just shuts down.

I've verified my files
I've updates from both path one and two.
I've reinstalled pwi.
I've even gone to the extent of reformatting my COMPUTER

and its STILL happens....

...Help?

~ Mew

I don't always get a bug report window.

Sometimes I do, but most of the time i don't.

    It can't be a firewall issue, I don't HAVE a fire wall.

Here are some things that might help you...

Add the game folder and/or game file to the exceptions list in your firewall or antivirus software.

Example: C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International

You also might need to temporarily disable your antivirus, MS Security Essentials or Windows Firewall long enough to download, install, patch and login to get into the game, and then turn it back on. Sometimes disabling may not help and you will need to add an exception for the game folder.

It might be Windows, Windows Firewall, Admin (such as running the game as Administrator), UAC, network, or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking or throttling the game.

You can also try changing your proxy settings for Internet Explorer 8, to have them turned off here: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > and then untick all of the proxy settings.

If you still need additional help, please Search our Knowledge Base for the terms mentioned above. Let us know what you tried and what errors you got when you reply to us.

    Thanks!

i understand your frustration, i really do. please try to be patient and appreciative of those who are attempting to help you here.

to the tech support specialists defense, thats a copy pasted response most likely - they tend to get a lot of issues similar to yours. sometimes what they suggest is what solves it, others its not.
    ...........

I'm curious if the issue you are experiencing was occuring prior to reformatting your machine, or is a new symptom you are getting only after having reformatted?

Have you installed all the latest drivers for your hardware? a total game crash might be indicative of missing drivers.

I formatted BECAUSE of this problem, and it didn't fix it.

The only driver my computer is my sound driver, other then that, nothing has really changed.

It only started happening a few days before the 1/2 fly gear was due to end.

    @Lady_Mew

I apologize for misreading your post. I'd like to get a better idea of what you're operating with.

Please send in a ticket to Tech Support with the following information so we can try to figure this out for you. We need you to send us some of your computer's information.

    1) What is the make and model number of your computer?

    2) Please also tell us whether you are running a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows. You can find out in Windows by going here: Start > Control Panel > System & Maintenance > System. Then look under System > System Type. It will then display 32bit Operating System or 64bit Operating System. Include that info with the info we ask for below.

    3) To create a dxdiag log, go to Start, click on Run, then type in dxdiag and press Enter. Click on Save All Information as a text file (on your Desktop as an example.
If you are using Vista or 7, go to the Start Menu, click on the Search menu and type dxdiag.exe.

    4) Attach the dxdiag.txt that you save to your reply to us.

If you have a 64bit system, please click on the 64bit Dxdiag/DirectX button to save the correct log file.

This is important so that we can help you find the right software for your system.

    Thank you for your patience.

I've looked for the info you asked for, but I'm unsure of where one would find out about 32/64 bit operating system, the route you specified doesn't actually exist on my computer.

I am now back online and look forward to the new update!

    Special thanks to:

Ozimov, even after I had a shot at you, you were still willing to help AND polite enough to apologize for such a generic answer.
