    Actually, that's not true at all. SoF/Feathers was how I first made the leap between small-time merchant and big-time. I started with 5 million and turned it into 30 million in just a few days by just repeatedly buying/selling.

    Sure, sometimes I actually lost money due to a bad run of luck, but so what? The end result was both my girlfriend and I earned ~25 million each, starting with only a small quantity and NOT waiting until after the sale to sell, re-sell, re-sell again, etc...

So basically i but mirages for about 14k and sell for about 16k *Sort of like that* and buy perfect stones like that? and another question how much of quantity do i buy both of them?? and so ur saying while im selling for 16k u want me to say im buying it for like 14k? wont people be alil iffy about that? like will they just ignore me?     As far as mirages go, I wouldn't. Too many TW junkies have too many to sell off anyway. Too much competition.

    On my server several catshops in eat arch are successfully buying extra mirages from players for 12-14K each and selling to players for 16 -18K each. Sounds like profitable merchanting to me. As far as competition goes, there's always plenty of room for more of it. That's just the way it is.

    I use Born_Free's map for grinding. Who knows, you may actually LEARN something out there.

    AFK grinding is called botting and is bannable. Oh wait, You mean you want the OP to not quest and level during the time he's online and waste the opportunity to do some merchanting offline?

    I tell you what, fella, if you feel like posting in a forum where an OP is seeking advice or help try to be a tad more constructive instead of making insults and belittling people. You do yourself a great disservice when you make posts like this.

    Many players are seeking the same advice that the OP to learn how to merchant successfully. Show some respect.

    Heh... well, thanks for the compliments, but really it's just that I speak up more than most do about what I do. On my server RoidAbuse has me beat and then there's a pack of about 5 of us who are vying for second.

    As for making a thread, I've thought about it many times, but I just haven't figured out what to write yet.

    Basically, you go find somebody else who's already doing it on your server, and copy them. That makes a good starting point for setting your prices. Once you get a little experience you can start undercutting them. b:chuckle

    As far as how much to buy/sell, just start small in order to get a feel for what you're doing. It shouldn't take too long to get a feel for what the market is like, and then you basically buy/sell whatever you can afford.

    One thing, though, is don't make the mistake a lot of people do and have a shop packed with unsold stuff, because if the price starts to drop you could take a big loss. I rarely had more than 2 stacks in my shops at any time.

    I just posted what I've done and my brother, ThunderSoul, posted what his strategy is. There really is no best way to do merchanting as everyone has their own little techniques and strategies as well as a comfort zone for risk. That also affects the items you choose to buy and sell. That's what you need to learn for yourself.

    The golden rule for any successful merchant business is to find out what others need (or want), find the cheapest and reliable supplier, and deliver your product for a better price than the competition and make a profit.
