What is Chi?

I have a wizard that I just got to lvl 9 and got the three elemental shields. it when I try to use them is says that I need 30 Chi? so the question is what is chi and how do I get more?

    Chi is built up by attacking mobs, Each time you attack something you will build chi. Your chi bar is the yellow bar under the health and magic bar. It will read 99 at lvl 9-29 at lvl 29 you will get your first spark. At lvl 59 your second spark, and at lvl 89 your demon, or sage spark will come in to play. By then you will understand more about your class i hope :) if not come asking, send me a message I will explain.
